One state wants to do that. Fuck what idiots.

How about a tax on Cigarettes and alcohol and gas for the car.

TheDoc 02-11-2009 12:40 PM

Another bill by another stupid person, that will get kicked back and cost the state more money in legal fights, increasing the shortfall they are already in.

Really smart leaders..

FreshKidIce 02-11-2009 12:41 PM

Thanks for posting the URL for me!

California is thinking of making internet sales to California residents taxable (sales tax), like New York has - guess since the courts said it was legal in NY.

Yeah, with all these states going broke many states will probably start pushing for this :(

They already tax both of these.....

Rochard 02-11-2009 01:17 PM

LOL!

"People are concerned about jobs leaving the state, but if you look at this industry, this is the last industry people are worried about keeping in the state," Miloscia said.

I guess Washington has a huge porn industry up there do they?

jakethedog 02-11-2009 01:19 PM

see, now we should be able to apply for the bail-out as mentioned by Joe Francis and Larry

woj 02-11-2009 01:19 PM

The porn tax may sound ridiculous, but once the ball starts rolling, I don't think there will be anyone there to stop it... I'm not visualizing at all people protesting in the streets "I oppose porn tax!"... If by some chance, there ends up being some opposition, the media will spin it hard making the adult industry look even worse than it already does...

Snake Doctor 02-11-2009 01:19 PM

A national porn tax would be the best thing that ever happened to us.

No it would not. It would not legitimize us one bit. Would not make us any more legal than we currently are. Actually would give them more power than they currently have over us. Then if you wish to see how well it really could work - look up the machine gun tax.

Ravage 02-11-2009 01:30 PM

They'd have an easier time if they retracted the UIGEA and worked to legalize online gaming and tax that at 18.5% like the UK does.

It would sure drive a lot of US based Internet porn companies overseas... :2 cents:

The way it's written, it will fly in the face of the Constitution's Commerce Claus. Only the federal government can regulate interstate commerce. This tax, as written, unduly burdens interstate commerce.
