Beat My Current Dedicated Price & I May Switch

Right now I'm paying $150/m for:

Pentium Dual Core @ 1.8Ghz
160GB x 2 SATA HDD w/Linux RAID
2GB of RAM
400GB bandwidth

Want to see what kind of deals are out there for a similar setup. Actually I don't need near 400GB of bandwidth (only use around 150GB).

FYI I'm running mostly wordpress blogs.

Fire away.

Just out of curiosity - who are you currently hosting with? Do you have any reason why you’re considering a switch or are you simply looking for best deal out there?

fris 03-17-2009 05:23 PM

you can get a better deal than that.

I have a $179 a month server with 8 gig of ram dual core xeon, and roughly 30mbps, with softlayer

Been with them for 9 months now, no issues so far

TidalWave 03-17-2009 05:29 PM

Dude, that sounds pretty good. Is that a fully managed solution? How is their support? How has been your uptime and server performance? Did you get multiple IPs with it?

I always thought their is some catch but 200 bucks for 10TB (even if i limit my self to 9.5) is still the best deal.

pimp3611 it sounds like you just want the cheapest price you can get. That being your criteria you will find a few ready to jump on that for you as a few have been mentioned above. Remember alphared, foundrynap, likewhoa, cologroup? well there are also others that sold below cost so if you can get one of those deals for yourself and save some change until they also fail....:winkwink:

pimp3611 03-18-2009 10:16 AM

to the top

Gasper 03-18-2009 11:09 AM

go with hostgator reseller (shared) for 30$ / month
