Laptop issue

I left my laptop on and closed it and left for work. I always do that and now I can't get it to come out of sleep mode. It won't boot and powerup. Any suggestions? The screen won't turn on. I'm running windows vista.

can you remove the battery? I've had something like that, I removed all power for a few seconds and then I could start it up.

I took it out for 5 mins and now it works. I was scared for a min I have everything on this computer.
