Are the top Hun spots still sold out for a few months in advance?

couldn't care less about purchasing them, but just wondering... from a 'state of the industry' standpoint

I remember the spots were always sold for a few months in advance, is it the same case now? and how about the prices?

TheSenator 03-27-2009 06:34 AM

I use to buy them all the time between 2000 and 2001. I use to roll in the cash by the fist full.

TheHun.net is an icon of the adult industry. It won't go nowhere but the value is in decline.

cherrylula 03-27-2009 07:28 AM

probably, but I get free listings so couldn't answer that.

it stopped being profitable for you already in 2001? If not, why did you stop buying?

anyway, I know Hun's a legend and the times are changing.... hence I'm wondering how is it now with the spots...

MrDeiz 03-27-2009 10:44 AM

what's their price now?

BradM 03-27-2009 10:46 AM

1300 for banners is the price
we've been buying for years

I was buying from 2004- mid 2008. during good times I had sometimes 2x orders at once (around 15 spots a month, with some breaks).

the decrease in number of SUs from his site started for me sometimes by the half of 2007 and in the half of 2008 I was only able to earn what did I pay for spots.

his traffic numbers (according sextracker) are 50% down from the best days, but the price of spots went actually up even in 2008.

my most sucessfull galleries (usually a bit revolutionary paysites in the reality niche) did something between 50-60SUs from 2-5 spots.

interesting topic. I hope to hear more info from others like teomaxxx

They used to be sold out for months. Now you can get a spot any time. Like others have said, traffic is down 50% but prices went up and stayed there. They'll have to reduce prices for gallery spots to get them sold out like before. You can still make money but if you're working with a budget, that same money can be spent elsewhere for higher return.

I remember a free listings was pretty much a gurantee of sales back in the day. Not the case these days but still nice to get listed because I usually pull in sales that rebill.

I wonder if more or less people are submitting to TheHun today compared to, say, 3 years ago...

if less are submitting, then it might be easier to get listed today

That's what I'm thinking as well. less submitting these days = more free listings

tony286 03-31-2009 07:54 AM

We do free submissions with the hun. We get listed its a good day for us.A couple of yrs ago tgp traffic was shit for us and now its a good source of revenue. I think all the kids went to the tubes so you got more serious buyers on them now.

Va2k 03-31-2009 09:14 AM

I don't know, but I buy the top spots 1-6 and traffic has gone down the shitter sales have gone ton of money, Parney is great though! She tries very very hard to help you out when you ask for something! *shrugs* once the world is back to normal it will be better! *preys*

Aquarius 03-31-2009 09:35 AM

none, the hun only gets revenue.... fuck that shit

UFGators2007 03-31-2009 09:52 AM

Not like it use to be. Not even close.

It's not as busy as it once was, but they still have close to a 100% renewal rate.

They raised prices in 2008, but then rescinded that increase and have held prices steady there.

While margins are definitely slimmer than they used to be, The Hun has always been the exception to the rule when it came to TGP's....he never crossed the line to being an affiliate and trying to get his surfers to buy things, he's always run his site from a surfer's point of view, so he's held onto alot more of his traffic than the average TGP has.

blogman9 04-03-2009 07:16 AM

Hun still has ferrari ?

This is exactly what I think too !
Going back to submit some galleries and see how it converts ;-)

ThumbLord 04-03-2009 04:51 PM

it looks like although traffic for TGP's has gone to the shitter, the revenue source is improved, well that is what I noticed, owning some TGP's as well.

Dirty F 04-03-2009 05:02 PM

When i found out what to submit there i got many free listings.

He still will list you easily if you submit the right stuff.

But, as any tgp i guess, some things will get you 1 sale and others will get you 50.

My worst free gallery was 1 or 0 sales and my best was 60 or so i think.

A TGP site is a list of galleries advertising paysites. Paysite customer customers today know this and those with no intentions of buying, are on the Tube sites. So obvious.

The problem is still some insist of lumping all traffic together. There are regular buyers, occasional buyers and free loaders.
