I have a brain tumor

I've been running an adult business for over 5 years now and has been on this board for over 4. As somebody who has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumor, I wanted to turn this unfortunate experience in my life into something positive. So, I?ve been participating in National Brain Tumor Society walkathons that take place every spring here in San Francisco. The money that people graciously donate to this cause go directly to research and support of those who have much more serious brain tumors than mine and don?t have such good prognosis for life.

With the new direction in stem cell research adopted by the new Obama administration, it is more realistic now than ever to find cure for cancers like more aggressive brain tumors are.

Please know that no donation is too small. Even a few bucks will be greatly appreciated. You can make your contribution right now online directly to the National Brain Tumor Society and get a receipt that you can use to write your donation off comes the tax time. Here?s the link to donate to our team
:

BTW, you may be surprised to know that the following are some of the public figures who have had or do have brain tumors:

? Elizabeth Taylor
? George Harrison of "Beatles"
? Bob Marley
? Lance Armstrong
? Gene Siskel of "Siskel & Ebert?
? Senator Ted Kennedy
? Scott Hamilton

Thank you so much for supporting me and my cause in search for the cure for brain cancer.

Dude, hang on there - there's a reason for everything. Maybe you are saving two more lives. maybe two hundred. You are the real heroes, don't let 'em tell you otherwise.

hats off to you. respect.

Thanks for donating. My tumor is not cancerous so my life will have almost the same quality as it otherwise would. The money that we're collecting will go for research and support of those who have lethal kind ( medical cure, support groups, help for their families )

That's horrible, i'm sorry to hear that.

I was with a friend at a cottage when his brain tumor decided to "become active" and it completely fucked him up over night. He never knew he had one in the first place..

We had a great day/night partying/hanging out at the cottage.. He went to bed and woke up the next morning and was acting like a new born baby. Couldn't do ANYTHING for himself.. Couldn't talk, couldn't walk, couldn't dress himself, Couldn't go to the bathroom, etc.... It was extremely scary and sad..

We drove him straight back to the city to a hospital where his parents were waiting and he never went home died a few months later.

Good luck man.

I wish you a fast recovery, baycouples. Sounds like you will, too. Remember, what doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger.

BTW, did you see Dr. Mehmet Oz on Oprah a couple of weeks ago? He was on there with Michael J. Fox who suffers from Parkinson's Disease. Dr. Oz said that he and all his colleagues in the medical field are all very excited about incredibly fast growth of stem cell technology. He and his colleagues think that we are only single digit years away from a major breakthrough in curing Parkinson's and other illnesses. I mean, he sounded very confident that this is going to happen. It will be pretty damn remarkable event when it does.

I just wanted to say thats a very noble thing to do to turn your situation into a positive thing by asking people to donate to the cause.
Best wishes for a fast recovery

you should read The China Study by Dr. Colin Campbell ASAP thechinastudy.com I believe is the link to the book, it was a 25 year study done by Cornell University in China on cancer, the results are shocking to most. It gets far too little recognition because its so difficult to read.

could you please elaborate on this, if you don't mind?
you have been diagnosed with a brain tumor but you basically can live with it?
or are you going to have a surgery or chemo?

please excuse my ignorance

also, I am wishing you all the best :)

I am interested in knowing this as well.

I am so sorry to hear this and my heart goes out to you. My uncle had lived with a brain tumor for years and the main thing his doctors wanted him to do was keep up with his daily exercises and maintain mental health through games like crosswords and journal writing by hand.

I hope your condition stabilizes and does not worsen, your positive outlook will definitely make a difference!

personally I have frankly no interest to watch a 58 minutes movie on cancer right now, but I just googled it and found this opinion:

http://nz.answers.yahoo.com/question...6125651AAaUhMs

I'd tend to go with that opinion and rather trust conventional medicine.
Keep in mind that everything from aids- to 9/11 or moon-landing conspiracy theories can be presented to look convincing. We are marketing people so we should know it. So although I am an open-minded person, I would very doubt that there's some cancer cure available and the bad governments and pharma companies try to hide it....

One guy that doesn't have to worry about having a brain tumor.

DWB 04-18-2009 05:05 PM

I used to feel sorry for people with brain tumors until I met a man with no brain. ;-)

Best of luck.

Your life must be so miserable, judging by your posts, and the fact that you're a 50 year old man hanging around on an internet forum..

When I stop making and spending money on an Internet forum I will stop hanging around.

Personally, I think it is kind of lame for a kid to be hanging out online on a Saturday evening.

All the very best with your fight and fundraising. Here is a site with some very interesting information I wish I know about a year earlier when my 7 year old nephew was fighting a brain tumor.

Cyber Knife

May not be good for you but information is power when it comes to times like this.
