Broke my cherry . . . and got pics.

First time with a rocker clutch. I was wrong about everything as far as how I thought they worked . . . but I did it.

I'd like two hours with it before answering that question. I know with a little time my opinion would change.

Haven't got a clue.

What I do know is that the trailer in the first pic is sweet. When I upgrade, that's the model I'm going for. :thumbsup

They don't call them land yachts for nothing. Airstreams are nice trailers and he sells them at a nice profit rather regularly.

Iron Fist 04-24-2009 08:36 PM

Congrats I guess?

The clutch is a foot pedal, hence being called a rocker... and you shift with your left hand.

Pete-KT 04-24-2009 09:12 PM

thats pretty cool, let us know how it is when u ride it more

Kind of.

There are actually a couple different "foot pedal" setups.

The one I am accustomed to, which you just push in like you would with a car. Before 1986 all my Harleys had that.

You can see it here (right above kickstand).

The rocker requires you to manipulate the clutch with the heel and toe, in other words you bring the pedal up and down. It is different and even as I was going down the street I was learning how to make it work. It is different for sure.

In 1941 H-D suspended making bikes for the public as they were concentrating on the war production. !945 they resumed production for the public.

Very astute observation. :)

I was about 7 or 8 when I had my first up close and personal contact with H-D. By the time I was 12 I knew what I would end up riding for the rest of my life.
