1 in 3 new Wm's are scamming fraudsters :(

FFS ... seriously is it just us or are other WM programs seeing a huge increase in scamming wankers?

We are getting close to 1 in 3 new WM's who signup to our proggy being scamming assholes who send fraud SU's, wait till payout and then chargeback. We aren't a large program so catch most of them before they pull it off but god knows how many larger proggys deal with it :(

seeandsee 04-30-2009 04:14 AM

furckers

u-Bob 04-30-2009 04:22 AM

post their details :)

Sarah_Jayne 04-30-2009 04:41 AM

Which of course means the majority aren't scammers.

That said..yes in the last couple weeks the fraudsters are out. There appears to be a ring of them working together too. Everyday almost one of them signs up and we catch them.

It makes me really appreciate the good affiliates. Which, of course are the majority.

Yep its been crazy the last 3 months... Make sure you issue credits before they chargeback to try and save the $25 CB fee.

Limit your program to only webmasters you know. Yes, it would limit your income, but save you from scammers.

RadicalSights 04-30-2009 06:24 AM

Can't you contest the chargebacks?

Kron 04-30-2009 06:26 AM

it cant be that bad?

pornocruto 04-30-2009 07:11 AM

I see a lot more "chatters" sending loads of fraudulant traffic.

nation-x 04-30-2009 07:23 AM

In my opinion, honest webmasters prefer revshare programs... I know there are some that will say they prefer PPS... but I think the overwhelming majority don't. In addition, if your program accepts affiliates from countries that can't even buy porn... why would you not think you would get scammed?

brassmonkey 04-30-2009 07:24 AM

yeah freakin wankers!!! hahaha

EvilFubAr 04-30-2009 07:41 AM

I can pick out scammers with my eyes closed. Most of them are morons.

Affiliates could say the same about programs these days, 1 in 3 programs have extremely shady operations ;)

it's even worse in the Rx niche (which used to be my day job). Try blacklisting certain countries from even signing up.

The Filipino webmasters try to pass on chat traffic are getting annoying...

papill0n 04-30-2009 11:18 AM

EvilFubAr 04-30-2009 12:37 PM

It is possible to train the flips into genuine marketers, takes some effort tho. They just dont get what they need to do without your guidance and they dont understand that the methods they use dont work for the sponsor.

Yep, they hop from sponsor to sponsor seeking anyone who will pay them for their signups.

You sure it's not just the same ones signing up over and over again?

I gather that but I am never really sure why particular posts get your attention. I don't think I said anything too odd. At least not any more odd than usual.
