omg .. IE8
Just installed IE8 and everything is fucked. Especially the controlpanels. Wordpress, phpBB.. :Oh crap
|
damn not good
|
There is a "compability view" button. It fixes it temporarily, but the scripts needs to be updated too. Thats for sure.
|
its garbage
|
I love how on Vista they made IE 8 an "Important", basically mandatory update. Took me 5 minutes to figure out how to turn it off and make it stay off of my taskbar as "update needed" or whatever.
|
Ie6 is still best. Also if you cant use ff and cant stand slow ie7/ie8 there are plenty browsers based on ie like maxton, green browser, avant browser,etc...
|
Who uses IE anymore? lol
|
If you're not running IE it might come as a surprise to discover how your layouts look to, what, 75% of surfers.

Maybe, if more and more sites look crappy in IE more people would switch to FF? :)

It's nice to see IE's market share is being eroded, it used to be well over 80% last year, now it's less than 60:
Browsers Grabber Hits Percent MS Internet Explorer No 41781081 58.9 % Firefox No 16965171 23.9 % Safari No 8599543 12.1 % Opera No 1375627 1.9 % Unknown ? 599164 0.8 % Mozilla No 596198 0.8 % IE8 seems to really enjoy fucking up CSS's. |
thanks for the heads up

If you design your pages properly, it really shouldn't matter.

IE8 works fine for me though I use FF more website building and downloads. :2 cents:

I just knew you'd come back with something.
It depends on your market of course, but that site of mine is pretty general. Look at the stats - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usage_s..._web_browsers: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi..._share.svg.png The usage share of web browsers. Source: Net Applications[1] Internet Explorer (66.82%) Mozilla Firefox (22.05%) Safari (8.23%) Google Chrome (1.23%) Opera (0.70%) Other (0.97%) From W3 as well for comparison: http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp Post stats from your most popular site then GatorB and let's see. |

The W3 schools surfers are more likely to be geeks though using alternative browsers.
Wiki should be a pretty good representation of the REAL world. |
Mine percentages for the last 30days
Internet Explorer 72.63% Firefox 17.10% Safari 4.41% Opera 2.71% Of those using IE 7.0 52.33% 6.0 41.96% 8.0 5.29% |
Installed Firefox, never ever used IE again...
