Leonardo DiCaprio to play Frank Sinatra in biopic?
 

Oh man, it appears some A-list actor wants to be Frank Sinatra.

Leonardo DiCaprio is reportedly set to play Frank Sinatra in a forthcoming film about the late Rat Pack crooner.

Director Martin Scorsese is behind the movie, which focuses on Sinatra's reported involvement with the Mafia.

DiCaprio, who previously worked with Scorsese on 2002's 'Gangs Of New York', is apparently top of the director's list to play the role, reports The Sun.

The actor is apparently so keen to bag the role that he has hired a vocal coach to try and mimic Sinatra's famous croon.

Scorsese has been starring dicaprio for the longest time now

I am very very pumped about this picture, but I do wish they would pick a lead actor with a little more Italian edge and swagger... I also tire of DiCaprio being in every one of his movies.

Oh how I hate DiCaprio, I'd of watched this but DiCaprio puts me off!

I agree he's too clean, I personally don't think he'd be upto the act either.

Scorsese is starting to look gay for Dicaprio. I've seen him talking about some other possible films and he always says Dicaprio would be perfect for the lead role no matter what it is.

I could think of many other actors that could play Sinatra over him.

I just read somewhere that Johnny Depp is going to play Sinatra...

I totally though Joaquin Phoenix was miscast as Johnny Cash when i first heard about that but ended up liking the movie and thought he did a good job, so who knows? DiCaprio was a decent Howard Hughes.

Depp looks more like Sinatra than Leo does. He's closer to Sinatra's actual height too( Sinatra 5' 7.5" Depp 5' 10" ) and has the build.

I am a big Sinatra fan.Di Caprio is a great actor but I don't see him playing The Voice.Should be interesting enough.

he was the first that came to my mind, he's imho the best male actor of this time. along with Edward Norton

no, and i also avoided most Scorsese movies. i remember him mostly from Titanic and The Man with the Iron Mask. and from those i dont see him playing Sinatra

Leo was good in Marvin's Room and Romeo + Juliet. And he's great as an autistic teenager.

Give me a break, I like Leonardo, especially in his recent films, but Harry Connick Jr was born for that role!!!

dicaprio? he's fat now. and gangs of ny sucked.

He fits the bill so well it's almost like a cliche, but I don't think he brings quite enough star power to the table.

With him the movie would be just so-so, maybe a 2 star film. With someone like Depp or Dicapprio it becomes a 3-4 star potential.

Perhaps, but Harry Connick Jr has some actual acting chops too, and I think he would do Old Blue Eyes (aka Old Blue Ass) proud.

He can act, but that's not the star power I'm referring to of course.

He's a good supporting actor, but the director of this movie is probably looking for someone bigger.

See that's the problem, Connick could be the perfect person for it, but for the whole fact that he's not as big as DiCaprio means he's not gonna get the part... How do they expect him to be that big if they don't give him a role he's born for?

DiCaprio is a good actor, there's many movies of his I like (minus Titanic), but you don't cast someone as a star of a movie, because of how big they are, they cast them because of how well they will play the part...

Casting someone based only on their celebrity status could make the movie a complete flop... Ever seen Gili?

I'd love to see Johnyy Depp take a stab at that role
