For the record:

US Airways is the WORST airlines I have had the misfortune of using. The make Delta look good.

I will be surprised if I make it to Barcelona without being arrested.

uno 06-10-2009 06:01 PM

You don't know by now that you either fly Virgin or BA unless you're going somewhere they don't serve?

MetaMan 06-10-2009 06:01 PM

why do you smell like a mix of blue cheese and socks?

Great. I am on US Airways to Barcelona on Saturday.

I used them once to go from Portland to New Orleans and it was terrible. The seats were tiny, the plane was dirty and the attendants were rude.

qxm 06-10-2009 07:04 PM

Next time.. go Jetblue or something like that.. and for intl Lufthansa ...

The Captain 06-10-2009 07:06 PM

hey I hate them with a passion also...

Listen up, folks. All US based airlines basically just suck ass. The one you choose to hate and/or have a bad experience with is simply luck of the draw. For example, some people hate American because they lost baggage and couldn't find and deliver it within a few days, but have never had a bad experience on, say, United, so they love United. Some people have the exact same reason for hating United, and love American for their lack of bad experiences, etc. Get it?

If you're going to fly a US airline, understand that they ALL SUCK,:love2suck and the one you hate is a matter of timing, so you might as well save some money and go Southwest or JetBlue or some similar LCC.:2 cents:

I worked for a domestic airline for many years. I know of that which I speak.:angrysoap

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 06-10-2009 07:32 PM

First time I used them was last week flying to Vegas and back.

The seats were small with little leg space.

Also, they charge extra for baggage, so instead of paying $35 for the baggage on the flight back, I upgraded to First Class for $50, and they waived the baggage charge - oh, and I definitely drank more than $15 (the difference) in free drinks... :drinkup

I haven't had problems with US Air before, but I can believe it.
My worst experiences have been with SouthWest.

Best airlines I ever flew? Air Canada and West Jet.

Iron Fist 06-10-2009 10:32 PM

Well i'm Canadian, and when I flew to Florida, I liked my flight on United.. the stewardess was kinda cute.

CunningStunt 06-10-2009 10:38 PM

I flew from LA to Portland with them once, supposedly in Business class. It was hellish, I didn't even want to sit on the seat, the thing was filthy.

US Airways isn't great but the worst of the worst has got to be AmericanAirlines. First time, lost my luggage and finally found it after I had gotten home, banged up to death. Second time, the 1 hour flight from NYC to Toronto was delayed 9 hours. I could have rented a car and driven faster. Third time, the night before my flight from Toronto to Miami they oversold and decided to bump me and didn't notice I had a connection. Only way I could make it to Curacao was to drive to Detroit and catch the early AM flight to make my connection.

Never again will I fly AA. I don't care if they paid me to fly them, its never happening.

I fly SWA domestically at all times if i can get away with it. It's like riding public transit but my expectations or so low I don't really mind.

CyberHustler 06-10-2009 11:21 PM

AirTran FTW!!!

CamDoughCommando 06-10-2009 11:24 PM

I once flew with USAir. I was going from Philly to Los Angeles. My bags made it to Los Angeles ok, but they lost me in St. Louis. How the fuck could that happen?

sortie 06-10-2009 11:27 PM

Compared to the old days, they all suck.

Sad, but they used to be great 3 or so years ago. I used to fly with them a lot and got one of their elite statuses which was awesome. It would cost me like $300 for a first class ticket from LAX to Philly.

Now they straight up are horrible. Staff all have an attitude and good luck actually getting the same seat you paid for.

Delta is the airline for me, they are great and friendly for the most part

I have been lied to non-stop since we dealt with the ticket agent at O'Hare and every step of the way since then.

The latest: The 30 Euro in vouchers they gave us for food with the assurance that they are accepted everywhere. Nope. Not accepted anywhere.

voa 06-11-2009 04:53 AM

Why is that...they don`t have good service or they have old planes ?

US Airways transatlantic route from Philly to London is the one I will pick every time when going home. On top of a number of things, they have the best entertainment system for transatlantic flights I have seen in economy. Now, internally, they suck.

tell them you want a few free day passes to their club, most of them offer some kind of free food and booze.

also, complain to their dividend miles department when you get back, they are the ones that speak english and will reply to you. last year when my gf and I were flying to Vegas, the somehow removed her first class seat. good thing I checked the itinerary the day before we left or that would of been really awkward.

I sent emails to dividend miles and they credited me with enough miles to buy 2 round trip tickets or upgrade 2 seats to first class... how nice

That would be cool except for the fact that I have no intention of using them after I get home.

quiet 06-12-2009 05:52 PM

i've flown everything, and the argentina airlines are the absolute worst of all time.
