So... Bush is still in Office?

I'm stunned this shit is still going on - though Obama has kept a significant portion of the Bush/Cheney security infrastructure - because the US supposedly has a checks and balance system...

Isn't there a web way to protest violations of your own 4th constitutional amendment:

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

It used to be more than just a Jean-Jacques Rousseau-inspired piece of literature, but now it's turning into less than that. WtF!?!?

Nah I can't watch TV anymore. Commercials are too infuriating, and most of the time it's either smoke & mirrors or outright hogwash and lies... I like this Olberman guy though :P but nothing justifies me getting more than a TV set for DVD's anymore.

:D

its simple... fighting terrorism effectively requires certain tools. not having those tools shifts the advantage away from those you are asking to protect you. so just like most other things he promised he was against... it was pretty clear what had to be done and why once he started actually getting high level intelligence briefings he was confronted with reality rather than having the luxury to talking shit on the campaign trail and making promises about things he knows nothing about regarding issues he knew nothing about.

and remember, you are talking about a lawyer who specialized in Constitutional Law... who frequently lectured/spoke at universities on Constitutional Law...so... it would seem pretty clear that he's found out that the world is not so simple as just standing up and shouting "change" and "hope" and "bush is the source of all problems in the world"...

no matter how popular that might have been, how good it might have sounded and that it even got him elected.

"Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the Government's purposes are beneficent. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil minded rulers. The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well meaning but without understanding."
-- Louis Brandeis, in Olmstead v. United States (1928)
