June has been insanely slow. I thought it would pick up the second pay period but not really. Still slow. I don't really care about this month just need to make enough to put me above Q2 2008.

Throw a grill and some BBQ sauce in there and we are in business! :thumbsup

sales could be better all around, they'll pick up again though like always

we looked into this alot.
here is what we found. 1, the same amount of people at the very least are trying to join. 2, bank declines are up by over 50%. So basically, it's the credit card being denied by the credit cards own internal security protocols. I tried even joining myself and was met by a bank of america phone call 3 minutes later. The good news is people are still trying. The bad news is the credit crunch is the reason why things are a lil slower.
Were seeing less declines this week which is a good sign.

This is also true, denials are insane. My friend tried to join a site not too long ago and got a call from Chase just a few minutes after being denied.

But why do the banks decline people from buying?

I have noticed the same across multiple processors.

Scrubbers now turned up full blast, or credit cards companies denying charges.

June is on track to be a record month for me. Yes I know the economy is down and tubes are killing sales. I've modified my approach and I'm making way more sales than I was 2-3 years ago.

Same here. This is looking to be the best month this year for me across the board. Memberships, clip sales, among other things. That said, I have changed the way I do some things. So it is not the status quo.

I have been tweaking and testing new things all this year. Apparently, finally hitting some groves on new techniques in marketing, new sites, designs, SEO, and productions. Nice to see. Especially in this economy.

This happens to me every summer. Traffic is up but sales are down.

This is a real sign that big money wants the crisis... a Membership is fucking peanuts, and they actually call people, WTF!

Here's what happened.......it happens every year around this time, forget the economic crisis or outlook....

All the kids are out of school. Moms and dads are spending money on camp, sports, etc.... Moms always tired, dads always broke and tired.

3 months and the kids go back to school. economic crisis aside, we'll all be back to normal.

We're doing pretty good so far for June, but we've also launched some new stuff.

last week of may and all of june. We had a few record days a few days ago though. Go Figure.. But it's definitely scrubbing, and not the fault of the billers. The billers are bitch to their underwriting bank, and the underwriting bank is bitch to the credit card company. A would be sale can pass right though all fraud databases without a hitch but for some reason, the credit card companies are definitely throttling the joins. My hunch is that this is a temp thing as we're seeing more consecutive big days.

Basically, this is what happens in a global recession and when credit card companies charge 35% interest, only to have people default on the payments, leaving both parties in a lurch. It will correct itself, it always does. Hopefully sooner than later.

Adding butter to Ramen Soup

This is never discussed but is a real problem.

I've had some issues with Paypal (being in 3 different countries within 3 weeks is a no-no with them) so I had to try to pay some bills with my credit cards, it proved impossible, 4 different cards all with $0 balance and high credit limits, all denied time after time, wtf?!?

we go thru it every year. Actually I expected with the current crisis and media circus, things would be worse than they actually are...

What is the bank actually asking?

Do adult transactions have a specific ID that says they're adult or are they just identified as card not present / high risk?

From people I have talked to, banks are not calling card holders over mainstream transactions of only $30 or so.

If banks are calling customers over joining a site, this has to have something to do with the cross sale stuff. They are not calling you if you buy a few DVDs at Target.
