Put your ICQ list and conversations in a browser tab with NO ADS
Just go here http://download.icq.com/download/icq...d=abhp_2g_left
and right click "Launch" and copy that link.. now make it a bookmark and then click it.. You'll get a login page and once you're in, your list will load in the browser. If you use Firefox and Flash block (makes gfy much nicer too) then you can even turn off the annoying ad on the bottom of the chat window. The tab even flashes when you receive a message and you're looking at another tab. There's really no point to it unless you're like me and like to do things differently. |
Cool tip.
I went ahead and googled for icq 6.5 banner remover, which I think the first listing at the time had one. It's really great this time around. It allows you to remove ALL the flash ads from the contact list and the message window AND removes the space it used to occupy. Also, it lets you resize the message window smaller (yes!) and also lets you remove all those icons for things you never ever ever use. Now my contact list is simply peoples names! Imagine that, it makes ICQ useable, lmfao. |
I just use trillian

Like I said, there is no real reason or advantage to this. I just liked it because it was a different way to look at icq for a change. |
