My favorite DJ is Eddie Halliwell, from UK!!! :thumbsup

tranza 07-01-2009 05:57 AM

Well, trance section... Tiësto and Armin Van Buuren for sure... There's another alternative DJ that is awesome too... There's somebody here that went to ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL?

Dirty Lord 07-01-2009 06:00 AM

My favorite DJ is MSTRKRFT!

escorpio 07-01-2009 06:04 AM

Nice call, Tranza!

I also love Tiesto and Armin! And PVD, too!

Another fantastic one for me, not just for the music, but for his performance on stage is:

FATBOY SLIM! This guy kicks ass!!!

DJs play records. Musicians create music.

Hey, escorpio, try this one and tell me what you think about: https://youtube.com/watch?v=TN3zkfOq9aI :thumbsup

tranza 07-01-2009 06:43 AM

Escorpio, do you really know what you're talking about? Do you know what's the difference between trance and house?
We aren't talking about rock music, in this case SLIPKNOT there's a DJ also...

escorpio 07-01-2009 06:47 AM

This is REAL music, you god damn kids.

ReGGs 07-01-2009 06:47 AM

Those darned kids and their crazy bee boop beep noise and sound effects and stuff. Back in my day we used to bang pots and pans together before we'd get beat with the wooden spoons and walked home both ways in the snow. Googly Moogly.

Did you listen to the video I posted?

https://youtube.com/watch?v=TN3zkfOq9aI

So, please do it and tell me what you think about?

I didn't say that there's no other great kinds of musics. E-music is the best for me, but I like other musics too, sure!

But this thread is not about bands and singers. Is a thread about, DJs!!! :thumbsup

I've been to a lot of stadium concerts with bands but I've never experienced something like that in the youtube video. I wish I could.

I wasn't into the E-music growing up and was mostly into rock n roll so I missed that whole scene. A few years ago I was in LA and my date and I ended up at a place called Avalon. Someone hooked us up and we danced all night. Then I got stuck in some smaller room for awhile before they flushed us all out a side door in the morning sunlight. :upsidedow

The whole night was pretty amazing for me and now I've been slowly adding music to my Ipod from the likes of Tiesto, Armin, Moby and Fatboy Slim. I'm the type of person that likes to experience everything and I'm not going to let turning 50 slow me down :thumbsup

CaptainHowdy 07-01-2009 07:19 AM

It would be plain awful if I actually had a favorite DJ...

kowalsky 07-01-2009 07:20 AM

Hernán Cattaneo.

tranza 07-01-2009 07:25 AM

No way, there's a lot of conceptual dj around the world, but UK DJ's are the best thought...

Iron Fist 07-01-2009 07:32 AM

My vote is Armin Van Buuren and Paul Oakenfold with a little Paul Van Dyk... love his mixes. :thumbsup

A quick check on my Ipod shows I have " Galaxia " Ferry Corten and " Time of our Lives " Paul Van Dyke and I'll check out the others.

I've actually been finding songs to download from threads like this and after I bought a few on Itunes they have recommended several more that I liked.

Right now I'm editing together a video of summer beach action set to Fat Boy Slims " Psyche Rock " for me and my buddies to watch :winkwink:

MaDalton 07-01-2009 08:23 AM

i just rembered that i saw Boris Dlugosch 20 years ago before he became famous

LeRoy 07-01-2009 08:26 AM

Yah I feel where escorpio is coming from. But I do know both sides of the token on this. Ive been to Led Zeppelin, Grateful Dead many times, Allaman Bros , Stones , The Who Just to name a few.

My good buddy whose in a jam band always gives me shit about the "House Scene" . Some people just dont get it or think it's all the same. Maybe just closed minded :winkwink:

Raves and house parties have been goin on for years. Some legendary early to mid 90's ones like the in northern Cal. They were called The Gathering and Freedom and they were nice. Sunset closing sets with Doc Martin, Mark Farina , Roy Davis Jr. in LA have always been good times. These days are just a good ole homie warehouse party in Downtown LA.

It's totally different but it still kicks ass

tornell 07-01-2009 08:29 AM

mine is DJ Slayer

I went to Ultra on the second day this year - I like trance - but Im more into rap and hip hop so one of MY favorite moments was when Timbaland came out (as a surprise) and started spinning his own music - that was pretty cool!

alexchechs 07-01-2009 08:41 AM

DJ SHADOW... hands down the best. Just check out the first Unkle album for proof
