got it months ago, no invite just saw an ad in robb report applied got it a few days later the card itself feels like junk I though it will be some metal or something like the amex, but its cool, the online account management is a pain

Yeah.. first thing I noticed was that it's thinner than most cards.

Just registered online with it and yeah.. not as easy online as Amex is.

I totally thought it was some scam. It came to my personal name. I even laughed at it's text, I was pre-approved, but needed to be approved to pay an annual fee, to access money I had already.

That was the first time I have ever gotten something like that, with me putting an effort out first.

Didn't see the reason to pay extra for it. Maybe I trashed it too quick.

I have 2 cards with Barclays "juniper" - National Park Foundation - low apr and a biz card.

We have the Amex Black for our corp - have had it for quite a few years. You need to spend 150-250k or more per year with there plat. card or a corp card to qualify for black...

Only annual fee card we have, but well worth it if you travel / fly alot as the lounge perks are great.

Had a black first direct visa card for 12+ years. Only because thats all they issue.

right, I mean besides feeling elite and showing off, they don't offer any other substantial benefits, do they?

nah nothing to major, the visa black gave me a priority pass for airport lounges but seriously its nothing too crazy

I remember when I got upgraded from the Gold to Plat 'debit' card with BoA. I never thought about the color of my card, until after I was upgraded. We would go out to eat at Burger King and like rich pimps my friends would pull out the gold, and then I pulled out my plat.. and oh man, the checkout chick knew what was up!

i have the american express red card.

the only people that have it are bill gates, warren buffet, and me...

last week i used it to have a unicorn flown in on the space shuttle...

Got an app for one in the mail three weeks ago. I wouldn't take advantage of the perks it has so tossed it away.

Not trying to impress anyone, so I never saw the point in any of them except higher annual fees. I still have the Amex gold card I got 30 years ago when I started travelling and it had perks I liked, like no-fee cashing for travellers' checks (like I said, it was 30 years ago lol) --- that and my MC have been good enough for me ever since.

Virgin offer a Amex ran through Bank of America, like a credit card (not like how a regular Amex works). It gives the best miles per dollar for flying on Virgin and as Virgin only wants 50,000 miles for a FIRST class ticket (one-way) compared to United for example who wants 150,000 miles for a BUSINESS class, it's an awesome deal. I transfer all my miles from my Amex Gold card over to the Virgin card and get an extra 15% also!!

I've been offered higher Amex cards but I don't see the point of paying for something when I'd barely use the "perks".

I'm l33t. I don't even have a visa, or amex. I have a couple of mastercards, but I hate them too. Only good for online shit. I always try to have enough cash on me to get me through a few weeks. Not sure why, but I do hate cards.. When I shop I use my debit/bankcard though which deducts the amount instantly from my account.

I dislike 'credit'. I would NEVER be offered any 'cool' cards either, I'm a horrible customer when it comes to creditcards. I always pay off my bill, so the intrest rates never get to me. :)
