Can't Sleep -My dog is at the vet after wasp attack

They say he might not make it. He was stung so much, at there is a lot of venum in his lungs and cardio system, that they might not be able to control is before it destroys his systems. Won't know more until tomorrow. How can I try to sleep, knowing he might not be there when I wake up. He is my baby. <br>

True, I did. Only ended up bothering my hubby's sleep.

Boobgirl 07-12-2009 04:23 AM

Only three more hours and I can go see him

Thanks Guys. I feel so bad, as I was the one that unknowingly stirred up the nest. I was able to get away with only a few stings, as I was outside of the fenced yard. My dog was inside. It wasn't until I was able to get away and get inside the house before I knew that he was being attacked.

Everything went wrong from there. He went into shock. Didn't have my phone to call the vet & friends that had contacts, couldn't find a vet that was open on a Sat night and so on.... I just have to think good thoughts, and not worry as much as I do, but guess that is what mamas do! He is a healthy 8 year old schoodle, so I hope that is going for him.

Two hours to go until i see him.

1200mics 07-12-2009 05:59 AM

I wish you best of luck with this , hope he can make it !

Sorry to hear that... My condolences

LexiLexxx 07-12-2009 10:12 AM

awww, that's so sad hun! Try not to feel guilty as freaky thing's happen that we have no control over. I know you are having a horrible time. :-)

I lost my cat right before christmas, he was 1 1/2, and I saved him from a shelter. This cat was a "Stallion" for a cat, he was fixed and he still wanted to go outside, wonderful neighborhood, soon he began to hunt, kill and bring us his catch. He would just kill birds, mice and rats, I hated it!!!! He did start with lizards, I would be cleaning around the pool and I would find little lizard bodies all over. Anyways!!!!! BLAH, he got into something or some kind of poison! He began to act weird, after dropping close to 2k right before christmas on trying to save him, he got worse and I had to put him to sleep he was suffering. Long story shorter...lol, time is your only friend, like losing a family member!

I hope time flies for you.

xoxo

Oh wow, so sad. RIP Jasper! :(

Boobgirl 07-12-2009 01:24 PM

Thanks everyone fro the support. Its just very hard right now. It is a dog, but it is hard not to think of him as our child. We do not have kids, but he certainly wanted to job! Every moment so our day was about him. We walked three times away, he was always underfoot, he was too smart for his own good, and we loved every minute of spoiling him.

I can't even look at our yard now, or any on of his items that are scattered around the house. I just blame myself for letting it happen, he is gone to soon!

Don't ever say that... Just because it's not a human, does not mean it's not a living thing, has feelings, gets attached to something, or anything like that. Dog's are mans best friend, they live to please their owners, do your kids? Doubt it... Saying "it's just a dog" is like losing a child and saying "I can always have another".

CaptainHowdy 07-12-2009 01:45 PM

I'm sorry for your loss...

Thank you. Not everyone would say that.

Sometimes, I wish children could be like a dog... after having a dog for 14 years, and you come home, the dog is still excited to see you, your teenager on the other hand screams at you and says they wish they were never born...

It will be gone soon. Didn't know it was there to begin with. We just moved here 4 months ago, and was cleaning out some old dean shrubs behind the yard.

fatfoo 07-12-2009 04:30 PM

That is unfortunate. Poor dog.

PersianKitty 07-12-2009 05:18 PM

I'm sorry that you lost Jasper. Quirk circumstances, but by getting him to the vets when you did, you gave him the best chance possible.

Like many others I know what it's like to lose a pet. They wrap themselves around your heart. You plan a part of your life around them.. making sure they get walks, food, etc. They snuggle up with you when you need it most. There's no way to not miss that when they are gone.

1200mics 07-12-2009 05:22 PM

Damn and i really hoped he will survive :( May he R.I.P. .
TIt is not your fault shit happens please dont feel guilty cause i know it hurt so much i lost also 1 pet he died on my hands when i took him home from the vet it was a small streeter kitty .
Seriously you should take things straight now and try not to feel guilty .

d-null 07-12-2009 05:39 PM

Kard63 07-12-2009 05:56 PM

Thanks for sharing your story too. There is so much going thru my head right now, and I know it will get better in time. I don't want to think of the good or bad memories, I just want him back.
