If Mick Jagger dies will it get as much attention as MJ's passing?

Mick Jagger's been in the biz for decades, just like Michael. I'm sure the Stones have influenced all sorts of bands and people. Will Jagger's death get as much attention as MJs?

DatingGold 07-15-2009 02:43 PM

They have like 5 good songs.. But wait so did MJ.. hmmmmm

SykkBoy 07-15-2009 02:46 PM

I think it will depend on the cause of his death...
a simple heart attack won't get the attention of being found handcuffed in a pool of blood at his mitress' house while her dismembered body lies just mere feet away...

Very noire imagery

SoloGirlsContent 07-15-2009 02:51 PM

FUCK NO! because I thought HE WAS DEAD

smutnut 07-15-2009 02:51 PM

No, but if Keith Richards dies and comes back again for the 5th time that should get a little God Damn attention, GOD DAMN IT! :1orglaugh

GrouchyAdmin 07-15-2009 02:52 PM

Maybe if he starts having sex with little black boys.

Well once Mick dies he'll have at least the age for it and his career was massively more standard in terms of the rock celebrity life - couple kids on the side, affairs with models and all kinds of women that were decades younger, lots of narcissism, french kissing Ronnie Wood on the stage etc..

So no I don't believe it would get that much attention, he was not a solo artist neither, and I don't believe he would ever get 10 pct. of the obsession that Michael J. got.

Not to mention Michael J. 's ability to make EVERYONE know he's around with some of the most media spread scandals and regular bankrupcy stories.

Jman 07-15-2009 03:02 PM

Jagger won't have more attention because his family and friends will respect is death and there will have no need to make a circus like Jackson's family did.

DudeRick 07-15-2009 03:56 PM

No...
Because Jagger's not a freak like Jackson was. :2 cents:

Semi-Retired-Dave 07-15-2009 04:01 PM

NO, but if Elvis dies again he will get a lot of press.

beerptrol 07-15-2009 04:04 PM

Only if he is found dead in bed with David Bowie

Haven't they already been there, done that?

:winkwink:

And the answer to this question is an emphatic "NO" because the fact of the matter is the Stones are without a doubt 100% Rock and Roll and we all know that Rock and Roll will never die. :thumbsup:2 cents:

tranza 07-15-2009 04:13 PM

I don't really know, but if Keith Richards die, he will attract more attention.

gnet 07-15-2009 05:42 PM

Absolutely not.

TheLegacy 07-15-2009 06:24 PM

Honestly I think he will get as much attention, but more positive. MJ is clouded in mystery but Mick has it all, sex - drugs - rock and roll. It will be just be covered differently same as the songs.

Remember when Freddie died from Queen? Same will be true with Mick - they'll do a major concert with celeb singers redoing his songs as a tribute.

cherrylula 07-15-2009 06:30 PM

Paul McCartney

SilentKnight 07-15-2009 09:09 PM

Question is - will Keith Richards snort Jagger's ashes?

Only if he can't find a rig.

iTouch! 07-15-2009 10:15 PM

maybe Elton John.

X37375787 07-15-2009 10:23 PM

Neither of these celebrities has been as much in the media spotlight over weird shit and controversy in recent years. Sure, people would mourn, but there wouldn't be as much of a media spectacle and circus as after MJ's death.

I am still avoiding TV news in fear that the retarded MJ madness is still polluting the airways.

SomeCreep 07-15-2009 10:25 PM

Nah, Mic is cool, but he doesn't have the same kind of fame that Michael Jackson had.

Agree, there would be attention but in a different way. I think many people would like to give respect to him while mj thing is big marketing bullshit with same people who cares did jesica simpson was left by her boyfriend.

SGS 07-16-2009 12:47 AM

The Mick Jagger story is very interesting if you have time to learn a bit about it.

Paul Markham 07-16-2009 02:11 AM

No way. Different fan base that has more common sense.

Added to that Jagger is not the media figure MJ was.

It might run a bit longer if the circumstances of his death were a shrouded as MJ's are at the moment.

rowan 07-16-2009 04:06 AM

When that happens all the "MJ" domains that were recently registered in a hurry will suddenly regain their value. :1orglaugh
