Cars you owned from way back in the day

I remember my favorite was a Tbird Supercoupe Supercharged and I tricked it out... Used to race stangs with it all the time. I loved that car even though it was a ford , it got me so much ass at the time

Do tell...

98 Mustang V6 auto w/ 125 shot of nitrous
01 Camaro SS auto w/ 175 shot of nitrous, Sunset Orange, perfect
04 Mustang V6 5spd w/ 100 shot of nitrous
89 Mustang LX with a lot of nitrous and some other good stuff
00 Camaro V6 automatic w/ 100 shot of nitrous
02 Camaro SS automatic w/ 150 shot of nitrous and soon an LS2/built tranny and... MORE NITROUS.

I have always owned shitbox american cars... with spray.

I am considering picking up a 05+ GTO or Vette or a 4 door import AWD turbo car (STi or WRX), but I'll probably stick with the 02 SS. Just can't beat it for cheap thrills and it's loud enough to piss off the neighbors.

89 240sx - 5 spd- drift car beat the crap out it it
90 240sx sr20det motor swap bunch of other goodies - 316whp in a 2400 pound car =]

When I was around 19 years of age I started doing my driving lessons and went out and bought a Mini Moke. It stayed in the back yard and I only drove it a few times as I decided to stop taking car driving lessons and went on to bikes instead. When I did pass my driving test many years later I bought a VW Golf then a Hyhundai and now I own a Toyota Celica

Same as my very first car ..lol

Hmm...it'd be a '72 Datsun 510 (that's Nissan to all you youngsters :1orglaugh)

I've owned over 60 cars but here's a list of my favorite.

First car was a 57 Ford Fairlane 2 door post. It was red and white with a black leather roll in tuck int.

70 Camaro, Silver metal flake, white leather.
70 Pontiac Lemans

My 2002 Cad, SLS rocked... By 1999 Cad was almost as nice... but the 2002 was much more "refined" I seriously liked that car. Going to buy another.

Had 7 Datsun 280z A 240z and a 260z and 2 300zx's (Just fun cars to work on and drive)

build a Prostreet Truck, 383 with 671 blower, full square tube, tubed with a ford 9" Yada yada. won world of wheels and truck nationals with it.

Had a Mazda Rx7 with a limited production racing engine and twin turbo. (about 150 made) Use to really piss of guys driving supped up muscle cars smoking them in the quarter. Also the car that I got my fasted speeding ticket in (186 miles an hour) Lost my license for 6 months over that one. Honestly though, I thought the cop was my buddy and was purposely trying to see how fast his gun could clock me, When the cop got out I was like "Oh shit" Not like I could tell him I thought you where someone else LOL!

Currently taking the Diesel engine out of a 1984 Lesharo Motor-home, and putting in the full drive train from a bonnieville SSEi Supercharged. Should be a pretty sweet mobile office when finished. (Course I'm fully updating it inside and out. Not much will still be original when I'm done but the shell)

And the list could go on and on... But, those are my favorites.

Machete_ 07-16-2009 06:17 AM

The Mercedes 280 SE from 1979 I had when I started living in the US

Like this one, but in the original Silver and original bumpers

haha - I have one that sits in the shed.

2 litre turbo in it - ~300hp at the wheels - they are a great car

georgeyw 07-16-2009 06:27 AM

Favourite car I have had was VT Clubsport - 5.7Litre, 6spd. Quick, great sound and so much fun.

My very first car was this 1968 Volvo I bought for $500 in 1976

Drove it all over Florida and it never broke down on me.
The coolest thing about the car was the front seats would recline all the
way down and match up perfectly with the back seat to form one big bed.
That came in real handy on more that one occasion.

Oh how I miss the 70s :winkwink:

Is that an EU rebadged Pontiac GTO?

No It's a Holden (Australia)- a rebadge of the German Opel Omega, but in that model only some of the chassis is left. New engine, suspension ect ect

It was then sold in the US under the name Pontiac GTO for a few years.

So in fact, the Pontiac GTO is a rebadged Holden VT. And the Holden VT is a rebadge of the german Opel Omega

Rochard 07-16-2009 09:39 AM

Oddly enough, my favorite car after all of these years was my blue 1976 Camaro. Just a nice car, fun to drive, three speed on the floor. Go figure - I've been driving Mustangs for the past fifteen years.

My father in law has a huge thing for the Tbird Super Coupes. He likes them white with the burgundy interior. He liked them so much that he bought a spare one for parts, being as he liked to work on his cars himself.

I have to admit they have a bit of a punch.

Nah that is a holden (HSV) - nothing to do with opel - it was sent to the EU as a Vauxhaul of some sort and the Pontiac GTO was/is based on the Holden Monaro.

Once I rented a Gremlin for a trip. It had a 4 cyl and was so slow everyone was passing me on the highway. A huge semi passed me and almost blew me off the road as that flat rear caught his air.

I bought this for $500 on the same day my VW squareback caught on fire.

my first car was also my fav car I've owned. A 68' Camaro with a 327. The car was fast as hell and it actually scared me quite a few times.. The damn thing when you would get on it would fish tail like crazy and if i wasn't 17 and it wasn't my first car i might have been able to handle the car better but i was a young dumb stupid kid.

Other cars I liked were a few low rider trucks that i spent a lot of money on. Had 2 different convertible trucks and one that had a $7,000 stereo system in it

My ex wife had a 72' Monte Carlo that only had 57,000 original miles on it in 92' and i loved that car

Big Red Machine 07-16-2009 10:35 PM

My first was a Jeep Wrangler...@ 17 my $ was burning a hole in my pocket and I wanted a car soo bad. It was stick ,but I didn't know how to drive stick...lSo I learned pretty quick by bucking it in a few parking lots. I also had a 74' Karma Ghia convertible that was a fun little car. Dam this thread is making want to get rid of the ol'dependable Toyota for something more fun, and less practicle. I did see a 68' Fastback in the paper...hmmmm

Slutboat 07-17-2009 12:21 AM

my first car I wasn't old enough to drive was a 69 Dodge Charger that I parked down the street so my mom wouldn't bust me. Later in life I went back to the original love and got one again.

I always loved the 190 + Old body Mustang 5.0's and all the shit you can do to modify em. A few of my friends had em and the speeds and off the line was crazy. I would seldom drive them and the exhaust nose was orgasmic hehheh
