tonight on CNBC at 9pm.... A show about the porn Biz

The blurb reads:

It was once too taboo to talk about, but not anymore. It?s the other Hollywood. A $13-billion industry. Consumers have a voracious demand for it? every second, $3075 is spent on it? more than 28,000 internet users are viewing it? 372 internet users are typing keywords into search engines to find it. Every 39 minutes, a new video in the US is being produced. All in service of Porn. CNBC takes viewers inside the Porn industry for your first, all-access look at the big budgets, the small players, the super-stars, and the one issue that could bring the adult industry to its knees. In this all new CNBC Original, Melissa Lee reports on PORN: BUSINESS OF PLEASURE.

Watched it last night, it was ok. It was probably the most positive piece of journalism I've ever seen about the industry...

What was this point?

"and the one issue that could bring the adult industry to its knees."

Inquiring minds would like to know

Oh there really wasn't much of a point :winkwink: The "issue" was proliferation of free internet porn and declining sales. It was mostly from the DVD industry's viewpoint though, so they were also blaming "cheap internet porn" for their lack of sales, and spent quite a while interviewing the president of Vivid... A few years too late I think.

Still it was refreshing to see a piece that didn't feature sleezy looking guys in seedy offices with gold chains and hairy chests, or girls crying about how they had been molested as a child.

Oh yeah and I saw AMA Joe in one of the AVN scenes!

So its cheap and free porn that is hurting the porn industry..

Ok, Good to know.
