Tour De Lance

Anyone see the stage yesterday and the power of Contador? Damn he flew up the hill.

Not sure if Lance has what it takes but I sure hope so. Let's hope he is playing his younger teammate a bit and will surprise him in the next mtn stages.

Go Lance.

Manowar 07-20-2009 01:22 PM

think contador has this one, unless lance is gonna do some superman stuff

Special_K 07-20-2009 01:24 PM

yeah I agree. It's too bad.
4 yrs off at this level is a long time and no discredit to Lance as he rode hard and placed well too.

PornNewz 07-20-2009 01:26 PM

If anyone can surprise you and pull off some insane stuff, it's Lance.

I wish him well.

Juicy D. Links 07-20-2009 01:29 PM

Lance will pull through

Pryda 07-20-2009 02:09 PM

Lance will never attack Contador's yellow jersey. They're on the same team.

In an interview yesterday, Lance said he was not going to win the Tour. He is going to be a good domestique for Contador.

Lance is going to be 38 years old this year. No one that old has won the tour since 1922. However, anything is possible.

Noćentini is fucker ...

If the Yellow is in reach Lance will try for it regardless of Contador being a teammate. As NemesisEnforcer say his role is domestique now and he says he will help Contador but Lance is a master strategist. It's all words right now, and although I doubt he is stronger than Contador if it's close I think the rest of the Astana team as well as others would assist in a Lance win over a Contador win.

It's just good business and either way you look at it great for Astana.

While we're at it...too bad about Hincapie not taking Yellow the other day.

Gonna be sweet.

After only training for a year and after taking 3 years off I think Lance knew he would be unable to attack AC. I think his gameplan was to stay within range of him and then put in a great ITT performance and hope it's enough.

He had a rough day on Sunday and AC got further away than he wanted. Not sure he could have followed earlier but as a teammate he had to wait until the rest of dropped riders caught up to him and Kloden. His power output based on calculations were pretty good and very much on par with his numbers in 2003, he is just missing that little bit on the high end which he mentioned himself in the post race interview.

A round of attacks by the shleck brothers and wiggens and few others could cause AC to crack if he gets impatient. It should be a good final week to the tour.

bushwacker 07-20-2009 05:17 PM

A few days of blood doping, and he should be at his prime once again.

Spunky 07-20-2009 05:26 PM

He sure is amazing.still has it

NemesisEnforcer 07-26-2009 07:13 AM

This really was the ?Tour de Lance?. Versus reported that TV viewership was up almost 60% worldwide to see Lance Armstrong?s comeback. Unless there is a crash, with 46 miles to go, he will take his place on the podium shortly.

Where can I see this live?

In the US on Versus (Channel 267 in LA on Time Warner or Channel 67 and 767 HD on Cox in Vegas) or real-time updates are on http://gaps.letour.fr/us.html on http://www.letour.com/.

They?re storming through Paris now on the Champs Élysées now with 24 miles to go.

NemesisEnforcer 07-26-2009 08:42 AM

Damn! Mark Cavendish just beat Thor Hushovd in the sprint. It's official, Lance Armstrong gets on the podium in 3rd place with his teammate Alberto Contador in the maillot jaune.

Tour de Lance 2010

Tour de Lance 2010 begins in 5 minutes. This is Lance's final tour. With Lance riding on Team Radio Shack, Contador on Astana and the Schleck brothers on Saxo Bank ... this should be an epic race. Good luck to Lance. :thumbsup

Not dancer but danseuse which means riding out of the saddle, standing up, usually in a taller gear than normal, and rocking side to side for leverage. No French words in the bot dictionary?

NemesisEnforcer 07-11-2010 07:01 AM

Lance just crashed at 133km just before the climb of Col de la Ramaz in the Alps.

i think it will be big fight, all teams can jump out!

NemesisEnforcer 07-11-2010 08:08 AM

Lance is having a bad day. Team Radio Shack has passed leadership from Lance Armstrong to Levi Leipheimer ? 10km left in today?s stage.

NemesisEnforcer 07-25-2010 06:09 AM

After 3 weeks of racing, the final stage of Tour de Lance and Lance Armstrong's final TDF has just started, 63 Km to go.

We had men in tights fighting and head butts:

and of course, the chain drop that cost Andy Schleck the yellow jersey.

This was an epic race. Congrats to Alberto Contador.

crazytrini85 07-25-2010 07:09 AM

Is it over? Who won?

It was a good win for Alberto Contador but their are others that think otherwise. Andy attacked and mishandled his bike allowing his chain to drop. Whose fault is that? Alberto didn't have to wait for him.

An exciting Tour this year, and then again not. So many favourites totally flopped and a few had accidents putting them out of the game.

If not for his accidents and crashes I think Lance could have changed this Tour for the better. Not that he could have won, but it would have been more than just a Saxobank vs Astana match. Looking back it was only a Contador - Schleck duel all the way. No one were even trying to challenge the two as I saw it. Cadel's crash didn't help either to keep things more exciting.

So true. The first week of crashes and bad weather took out some of the GC contenders. At least Lance made it to the podium via Team Radio Shack winning the team classification.

Adam_M 07-25-2010 06:43 PM

Schleck will get his chance to repay Contador for that poor move

NemesisEnforcer 07-02-2011 06:57 AM

Here we go again!

Stage 1 of 2011 is underway. It looks like Alberto Contador and Andy Schleck is taking it easy ? for now. Although Lance Armstrong is not in it, Chris Horner and Levi Leipheimer for team Radio Shack is looking pretty good. 72 km to go to see who will wear yellow after stage 1.
