XBox is your best bet. Bigger game library. Better online environment.

SBJ 07-24-2009 06:04 AM

I like my PS3 but I'll admit i bought it mostly for a blue ray player and I don't play a lot of games. I read like a month ago that the price of PS3 was going to be coming way down soon also

Some PS3 developers have demanded a price drop, but nothing has been set in stone or announced. If there is one, I'd count on it hitting right before the holiday, if at all.

porndotnet 07-24-2009 06:12 AM

get an xbox. period. :)

Tapaz 07-24-2009 06:14 AM

cool , but Xbox have all the games avaliable for PS3?

IllTestYourGirls 07-24-2009 06:18 AM

I have a kid so we have a Wii. You can play Call of Duty with a gun attachment, thats pretty cool.

Herb Kornfield 07-24-2009 06:24 AM

Get both ...

I have a xbox 360 for all the shooting / driving games. Really a nice machine ..

The Wii - its a drinking game machine / for the kids type of machine.

justinsain 07-24-2009 06:49 AM

If you take into consideration the advancements the xbox will be making in the near future, it will leave the other consoles far behind.

You need to be more specific as to what you want to do with it as each console has it's strong points.

Dirty Lord 07-24-2009 07:00 AM

Nintendo WII

Wii = toy that you may or may not lose intrest pretty quickly. Fun for a night or two..but..

PS3 & Xbox = If you're a 'hardcore' gamer, that likes smashing audiovisual spectacles. Get PS3 if you don't have a blu-ray player and want to see HD-movies. Other than that, just check which console has better exclusive titles that suit your taste, and go with that. The graphics etc are pretty much identical on PS3 and XBox.

There's more to it than just game titles and graphics.

The user interface should be considered and the features it offers. With all the things microsoft has in the works the XBOX 360 stands above the rest.

Project natal = fail. Stop thinking it'll make a difference. :)

Blazed 07-24-2009 07:29 AM

I have all three i would say:

1. PS3
2. Wii
3. Xbox

Although it is close between PS3 and Wii. I wouldnt get an xbox, there are plenty of great exclusives on the PS3 and tons coming, plus you get a bluray as well as a well built system. If you buy an Xbox there is something like a 40% chance you are going to have to replace it/repair it within a year.

Choopa Phil 07-24-2009 07:29 AM

i have both ps3 and an xbox 360, the build quality ot the ps3 compared to the xbox is hands down 100% better. in fact i bought an xbox elite 2 months ago, it broke 4 days later. i love halo so i opted to get another one. 360 is the best all around system, my gf has the wii, we play it sometimes its OK. i still like to reminice and play some mario kart or 007 on my 64

closer 07-24-2009 07:30 AM

I have all 3 and only play my PS3 and sometimes Xbox, the Wii is fun for a night with friends and all...

Replace / Repair? Why? Xbox is not solid?

Manowar 07-24-2009 07:36 AM

ps3 or xbox for sure

Search google for RROD (Red ring of death) :1orglaugh

I think it's been fixed on the new mobos of xbox though.

Choopa Phil 07-24-2009 07:40 AM

its RROD is fixed for the most part, but xboxs compared to ps3 typically have a higher failure rate.

MallcomBrandon 07-24-2009 07:41 AM

PS3 for sure !

I actually was a diehard xbox advocate but I gave in and bought the PS3 .... have not used the xbox since .... speaking of which ill sell the xbox to you if you want ...

Go with the PS3 the online is free unlike xbox ... and i think PS3 graphics look better in my opinion.

BestXXXPorn 07-24-2009 07:41 AM

Wii is great for parties... that's the only time I even user mine.

PS3 is ok... game selection sucks, nice that it plays BluRay but that's its only advantage over the 360.

XBox is where it's at, anyone that tells you different is most likely a fan boy. Buy a new system, it's much less prone to needing repairs... The game selection is the best, the online experience is the best, and they have much more announced stuff in the works than Sony does.

Scott McD 07-24-2009 08:26 AM

Love my PS3!! :thumbsup

The games are pretty much the same as the 360, plus you get a Blu-Ray player.

The Wii fucking sucks. I hate it. Every damn game that comes you just end up doing the same fucking thing. It gets boring VERY quickly...

not for nothing man i have both systems and since about last year both xbox and ps3 have roughly the same titles coming out for them. i had my ps3 over a year longer than my xbox,
xbox broke in 4 days, ps3 didnt,
xbox needs batteries, ps3 didnt
xbox needs wireless adapter, ps3 didnt
xbox needs subscription to online, ps3 didnt
between the wireless adapter and the subscription for 1 year, youve already added +150 to your xbox, plus the cost of tearing through batteries every 8 hours, and you still have no blu-ray

Varius 07-24-2009 09:27 AM

I was hesitant to get a PS3 and finally only decided to go for it few months ago, but since I have, it's awesome. Easily better than the Wii and 360.

BluRay player > No BlueRay player (though I don't really watch any BluRays myself)

PSN Network >>> Xbox Live Network

PS3 Motion Controller technology > XBox Project Natal

PS3 Quality of build, Cell processor, etc... (hardware in general) >>>>>>> XBox

PS3 Controllers > XBox Controllers (matter of personal taste I guess)

PS3 w/ Linux/Other OS > XBox w/ Linux

I think right now, the only area XBox is in the lead is in games; that lead is going to drop significantly though as more developers have been figuring out how to develop for the PS3 and many more high-caliber games and exclusives are announced for late 2009 / early 2010.

Wii is good to have as a backup for party games, family games, kids.

Smiley 07-24-2009 09:38 AM

i have all three

i use my xbox 360 most of the time, more people have them, bigger game selection and i use the NetFlix feature alot

i like my PS3 for sure, have less friends there as most have the 360, but mainly use my PS3 for the Bluray and some games that are PS3 exclusive

my wii, well i bought it because im a gaming geek and had to have the new toy to try, its ok, but its definitely more for people that dont game or if you have a party and want some quick silly fun with games like Raving Rabbids or the Carnival type games...

xbox pros:
probably going to know more ppl online
larger library of games
NetFlix
many more "arcade" games to try & download

Xbox cons:
Microsoft
Xbox live costs money

PS3 pros
bluray
online if free
motion control is better than xbox
do offer some great interlinking with PSP (yeah got that too)

PS3 cons:
might not have as many freinds online
bulky design
game library smaller

Wii cant compare...

if youre a gamer go Xbox, PS3...then Wii (unless you entertain alot with non gamers or kids)...but again, you can go PS3 then Xbox if you plan on playing online and more of your friends have PS3 (plus you get the bluray)

PastorSinAlot 07-24-2009 11:22 AM

PS3 is better , but no games
I would go with xbox360 just base better games and more people online

alexchechs 07-24-2009 11:35 AM

PS3 all the way. The Blue Ray, the network, the games.... so much better than an XBox.

xxxTILTxxx 07-24-2009 11:36 AM

Ps3 hands down...

Look for god of war 3 in december.. Will be sik.

RyuLion 07-24-2009 11:41 AM

I still use my PS2. I only play video games once every month or so, not nearly enough to justify a new system. Games are cheap, you can get games for 10/15 bucks.

PS2 is still (I think) the most popular gaming system.

PS2 outsold PS3 in April 2009:

Bad news for Sony, as NPD?s latest April sales reveal that Sony?s PS3 only sold 127,000 units, the lowest since before the release of the 40 GB model in October 2007. To make matters worse, the age-old PS2 outsold the PS3 for the month, selling over 172,000 units.

Top Selling consoles:

Looks like PS2 has more units sold than anyone else.
