What mail subscription program to use?

I'm trying to plan for the future so I don't have to change services some time down the road and lose half my members when they have to re-opt.
I want a great service, but of course for as little $ as possible. Let me know what works for you guys.

Would be nice if it allowed multiple sites as well

I'm leaning hard towards aweber, but I'm interested in seeing if anyone has any better suggestions. They have a lot of awesome features, but maybe another company does as well.

I've used GetResponse which worked well enough. I just use Interspire Email Marketer on my own server now. Seems to get as good an inbox rate as GetResponse did, and I'm free from the monthly subscription fees now...

I was thinking of using my own server and whatnot, but some of the subscription programs claim to have great whitelisting with email services like gmail and aol mail. This is big to me.

I get pretty good delivery to gmail and hotmail through IES. I tweak my mailing to a test list of my own emails and check up on delivery until i'm not hitting the spambox for my main mailing. They seem to spambox on certain keywords and phrases. I still have a hard time getting a good inbox rate with yahoo, but really I don't seem to get a lot of yahoo optins anyways. I'm still pretty new to mailing myself, but I'm doing alright.

phpList should do the job...
you'll just spend hours customizing it but it's free and it works good!

What are the limitations for phpLIST?
