Ever lent money to someone online? Profitable?

People are turning more and more to online lending exchanges. See: http://www.latimes.com/business/la-f...6483352.column If you've done this, what is the default rate? What % is the ROI? Legal issues?

I have loaned small amounts money through Kiva. But it was more about helping someone out than making a big profit.

the best ones only give you 10% return a year, which based on the risk, isnt worth the exposure imo..

I am still waiting on payment from one of our Dutch friends. I guess he decided to scrap his adult ventures.

Same here, been lending out a lot. And even IF i got it back, it was after kicking their asses multiple times a day.

Most of the times it was more like: Yeah tomorrow im gonna pay back, really.

Yah..

A Kiva lender would know that there is 0 profit. You get back what you lend, and that's it.

0 profits.

Lending money to personal friends is hard enough... Would never do lend to someone I don't even know personally
