It would be hard for him not to succeed as North Korea said they would release the journalists to Bill Clinton a while back.

Which is nothing new. Carter has been sent, along with Governors (Richardson), Jesse Jackson, among many others over history for similar types of situations. Obama is no different from Bush, Reagan, or others throughout history.

It is a non-issue at best on a slow news day.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il has issued a special pardon to two detained US journalists, the country's state news agency reports.

It is a happy ending, for now. Let's just hope and pray we haven't lost any bargaining power.

The Iranian hostage crisis was a diplomatic crisis between Iran and the United States where 53 Americans were held hostage for 444 days from November 4, 1979 to January 20, 1981, after a group of Islamist students and militants took over the American embassy in support of the Iranian Revolution.

The episode reached a climax when, after failed attempts to negotiate a release,

the United States military attempted a rescue operation, Operation Eagle Claw, on April 24, 1980, which resulted in a failed mission, the crash of two aircraft and the deaths of eight American servicemen and one Iranian civilian. It ended with the signing of the Algiers Accords in Algeria on January 19, 1981. The hostages were formally released into United States custody the following day, just minutes after the new American president Ronald Reagan was sworn in.

Why would people not be happy. Even the psycho country that released them is probably happy if only for their own personal reasons if nothing else.

THEY LOVE ME LONG TIME!

p.s. there probably are people who have other things to do than give a shit though if that's what you mean.

I'm pretty sure he'll be grabbed and tried for war crimes. I doubt he goes far out of the western world unless he's jacked up on snort and booze, but Jesus probably tells him to lay low since he found him and got his second birth.

directfiesta 08-04-2009 03:01 PM

Just need to photoshop Bill's head ( .. no pun intended ) :
