what does a good site design cost these days?
 
curious

looking for something that LOADS fast (for the mobil market as well) - is mostly html and not image graphical but with large thumbnails.

what kind of costs are people paying now for this?

the problem with most of the designers nowadays is, that they only concentrate on good looking graphics - what really matters is the conversions and a REAL *designer* (who not only knows his photoshop but is also well versed in marketing and the likes) takes about $75 to $100 per hour.

$1500-3000 will buy you a very professional site that combines excellent design creativity, solid coding (xhtml/css), fast load time and well tailored to convert/impress the right audience.

You get what you pay for. :2 cents:
