I love clouds... does that make me gay?

JP-pornshooter 08-31-2009 03:20 PM

i was coming back from a shoot sat, getting on the 405 at sunset and just looked up towards hollywood, it looked like a bomb had just struck, the smoke was bellowing up towards 25000 ft..
my camera was locked up in the trunk (and i was tired..)

pornguy 08-31-2009 03:27 PM

Great photos mate.

Why 08-31-2009 03:33 PM

cool pic, clouds are interesting things.

baddog 08-31-2009 03:35 PM

I wish I had a camera with me this morning. Flying out of LAX was very strange with the smoke just laying there. The lack of wind is really messing up the air quality down there.

Haahaha I spent two months out there designing the software for that new big Maersk Pier back in 2002ish? The software was used to track the efficiency of Union workers (steadies) on the pier and how many moves each container took to get to its final location, etc...

When it went live they all pitched a fit and went on strike... Apparently Unions don't like having their efficiency tracked... image that! The application was removed... There went two years of my life! Ah well :(

Titan 08-31-2009 04:30 PM

only americans understand how these "unions" work, they are extremely greedy and self protective. the clerks who are regular office staff (none of them have a college degree) make over $90K per year, the crane operators much more..
they dont allow newcomers into the union, only family..
few years ago they were forced to take in more staff and they advertised just to make it look like they were hiring, instead they all brought in their cousins and other family not already working there..

Rangermoore 08-31-2009 04:41 PM

We are getting a little smoky here in Vegas from it...

ToplistBlog_Com 08-31-2009 04:42 PM

it's a testimony to the economic powerhouse port of los angeles that it can be a huge money generator in spite of union shenanigans. it's amazing to see how much business the port does and creates.

not only that, but the port has the strictest pollution/air quality standards of any port in america, i believe even the world. above federal guidelines and on track to meet their goals in 2011.
