Post Delay... Is it REALLY necessary these days?

Is bandwidth that expensive, where a few extra posts per day is gonna break the bank?

Iron Fist 09-04-2009 09:26 PM

It's to stop contest whores from crumbling the server, and postcount whores from running their bots and posting like a thousand posts a day. Kind of takes the fun out of getting the biggest postcount...

So, better to slow everyone down, than to ban a few IPs?

Iron Fist 09-04-2009 09:29 PM

If it was that easy, then why always the fakenicks who keep coming back?

Phallus Fondue 09-04-2009 09:33 PM

i thought it was so that the hamsters that run the databases did not have strokes.
i also would really appreciate a much more better search that could go back more than it currently does, unless of course you know the superduper special word used in some thread 4 years ago that lets you find it, which i do not.

I agree, I think the search function is a bigger issue than a post delay.

I don't really care. If Eric want's It at 35sec or 2min.

If I make a post and GFY tells me I have 8 seconds left before I can make a post I wait those 8 seconds. If this makes you angry or pissed you really have a great life. I can think of 1 million things that bother me worse.
