Wordpress 2.8.4 problems.

I've just upgraded a blog using the built in automatic upgrade. The Wordpress version is now the current 2.8.4
The upgrade was successful, however I have discovered two problem.
One...when I write a new post, I cannot edit the timestamp. When I click the button, nothing happens. I can change the time & date through the 'quick edit' tab once already posted.
Two...When writing a post, the insert/upload image & mutimedia buttons are broken. When I click them, nothing happens.
I've just spent 2 hours scanning the Worpress forums and whilst it seems others are having these probs since upgrading. No one has a fix.
Any idea? Anyone else seeing this happen?

If it helps at all, just use the hot key to insert the image, Alt + Shift + M.... should still work. Lemme know?

That does work (thanks a lot)! I'll use that as a workaround until a permanent solution is found.

Hey no prob, I've always hated the newer versions of WP and how they make you insert media, that keystroke has worked on every version I have ever dealt with, so until they get your bug worked out, you should be good to go! :thumbsup

You wouldn't happen to have a hotkey combo to bring up the timestamp edit feature?
If not, thanks again for your help.

solopimps 09-06-2009 04:51 PM

I don't know if there is a hot key for that or not.... Have you tried disabling any plugins or you're using and then trying?

solopimps 09-06-2009 05:00 PM

Don't know why i typed "or" in there, meant to just ask if you have tried disabling your plugins, and then trying the timestamp feature. Good Luck.

Calico Jack 09-06-2009 05:08 PM

Yes, disabling all the plugins an enabling them all one by one was the first thing I tried.
Still no luck and as other's seem to be having these probs too it seems it's not just unique to me.
Once again, though, thanks for your help.

Yeah no problem man, once again, Good luck with your issue. If you figure it out, be sure to post the solution, I'm sure others are having the same problem.

No, just a simple automatic upgrade from 2.7.1 to 2.8.4
Upon doing so I cannot insert/upload an image or edit the timestamp from the 'new post' box.

I do, nothing changed in my browser settings. It was the upgrade to 2.8.4 that brought about these errors.

try uploading the 2.8.4 files manually. maybe something was corrupted during update?

Thanks! I would try that if I knew exactly what files needed to be uploaded. Know anywhere I could find instructions?

Maybe try to reupload the files?

Zarathustra 09-07-2009 01:31 AM

This is an easy fix for you Calico Jack.

Reupload wp-includes/js and make sure all the files and folders are there

For all of you that offered help and suggestions...thank you!
I've fixed the problem and it was theme related. Since 2.8 came out a theme update had been made and all I needed to do was update it.
