How can I make a texbox with the BBCODE to link to current page?

I want to add a textbox on a page, that always has the corresponding BBCODE to link to the page it's on.
i.e. domain.com/index.html textbox shows

[url!=domain.com/index.html]domain.com/index.html[/url!]
(minus !)

I know this can't be too hard, but there's a reason I use WordPress, and it's not because I'm a mastermind with PHP.

He told me about that, and this is what I emailed you about.
Well, not 100% but this is the general idea of it.
Can I hit you up on ICQ?

fris 09-08-2009 05:05 PM

You are never online, says my ICQ.

Twig 09-08-2009 05:22 PM

I think I got the plugin you're talking about but it doesn't work for me because the images in my posts are injected by shortcode, they aren't actually coded into the post.
Plus I want to add this code into a plugin I'm already using (Lazyest Gallery) so it will show the textbox w/code at the bottom of every gallery made by LG.

Twig 09-08-2009 05:40 PM

Another to the top for fris.

fris 09-08-2009 05:57 PM

704-299 try again cause i rebooted

Ok apparently ICQ is not going to work for us, because it's told me you're offline ever since the start of this thread.
I'm going to email you, because I made a little bit of development towards what I'm looking for, but can't get it all to work together.

fris 09-08-2009 08:31 PM

got the email will look at it tomorow and get back to you

Twig 09-09-2009 03:24 PM

Sounds good. Thanks.

Twig 09-09-2009 07:41 PM

Bump for big daddy fris.

Twig 09-10-2009 04:24 PM

You get around to looking at it yet ?

GrouchyAdmin 09-10-2009 05:12 PM

Share and enjoy.

Twig 09-10-2009 05:19 PM

I just briefly read over it, but this seems to be for enabling BBCODE as a type of input. I'm trying to show a code box at the bottom of certain pages, that is filled with the BBCODE that would be needed to input the pictures from that page into a forum post.
How most image host sites do. They give you the code to use to input the pictures you just uploaded.

GrouchyAdmin 09-10-2009 05:26 PM

Oh; I entirely misunderstood.

Something like this, only with the BBCode? (I don't display BBCode for that except on the upload page, so you won't see it; only a cut-and-paste non-bbcode textbox).

I wouldn't condone this method, but it will work.

Twig 09-10-2009 05:27 PM

Yea, but not for the current URL. I can accomplish that. I'm looking to have it implemented into a Gallery plugin, and display the BBCODE for all pictures within the gallery if on the Gallery page, or just the code for the pic, if you're viewing the pic directly.

Ah. Well, that will depend on your version of Gallery. Gallery1, you're either parsing flatfiles or checking directories and globbing. Gallery2, I have honestly never messed with, so I'm unfamiliar with the tables. I'm not going to swoop in and grab someone else's question/fire here - but I bet this has already been addressed on the Gallery forums.

Twig 09-10-2009 05:34 PM

Using NGGallery, was trying Lazyest Gallery before it went haywire.

GrouchyAdmin 09-10-2009 05:40 PM

Looks like you want $image->href_link for a local ref; no idea if it populates all of $image with data or not. I'd print_r() it and see what it sets, and failing that, audit the code.

I've been back in the states for years now - It'd be a hell of a long time to wait for dinner. Those were good, though. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

See, and now you lost me haha.
Like I said in the OP, I'm no PHP man. I get the overall idea of what you're saying but I wouldn't be able to successfully implement that myself.

There's a plugin called SEO Ultimate that automatically inserts a linkbox with the html code in it for the link. The code is directly editable in the plugin options and should be easy to modify for what you want. It looks like this by default:
Code:

Link to this post!

I imagine you could just replace the <a href= stuff with bbcode stuff but I'm no coder so I don't really know.

fris 09-11-2009 06:40 AM

can you hit me up on icq so we can talk in real time?

Twig 09-11-2009 06:49 AM

Apparently not. Every time you tell me to, you're offline. Even minutes after you say to lol.

i installed nextgen gallery and did a mod.

fris 09-11-2009 08:11 AM

bump for twig

Twig 09-11-2009 01:51 PM

Yep, that's what I was looking for for the single image. I also was hoping to work out something on the gallery page (http://www.frisx.com/nggallery/post/lunch-lady/) that would show the BBCODE for all the images in that gallery.

Twig 09-11-2009 03:39 PM

to the top for fris

fris 09-11-2009 04:37 PM
