Whats the best way to promote a little niche dating website?
 

I have a gay microniche dating website thats still small but slowly growing.

I want to use my credit cards and spend a few thousand dollars and do a big promotion to really get it to start cooking and spread the word. I was wondering whats the best way?
I could print out tshirts and give them away to members hoping they wear them at bars and out at events.
I could print out club flyers and pass them out at bars. I could advertise in gay newspapers.
I could just spend the money on adwords advertising.

I have been doing tgp galleries and the traffic has been garbage. People sign up but almost none of them fill out their profiles or post a photo. So I am looking for other places to promote the site.

Online promotion will always show better return than offline promotion. What's the niche?

It's sounds like you're just starting out, so I would advise against maxing out your line of credit, especially if you're not seeing a return on your current paid efforts. Start small, focus on guerilla style targeted marketing. Create themed blogs, post in news groups, get the word out. Listen to your user base, track your traffic, set up funnels, streamline your reg path. Don't blow it on shirts or print ads, that stuff gets you nowhere.

Ive taken some homemade videos and watermarked my url on them, but I dont know where to post them. tube sites dont take them because theyre watermarked. I never thought of newsgroups, ill try them.
