Was Music Deeper In The 90's...

Was Music Deeper In the 90's and the world more civilized? Or am I just old?!!:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I'll admit that I like a lot of today's music but I can also admit the quality is much lower on an artistic scale. The music of today is more along the lines of commercial jingles as opposed to actual music composition.

I also think music has been devalued in society and most of it is because of the free file sharing and also the industry itself spent so much time taking teenagers with no talent and making them into stars that people don't really relate music to actual talent anymore.

It's sort of like painting. At one time in history, painters were like the rock stars of the world. Kings would all fight over securing the best painters to live in their country and they would support them. Now, being a skilled painter is not really appreciated at all and can't even earn you a living. I think music is going down that same road. People will always like music, but it will be disposable and not really seen as an art form.

I have something to say, but Jim's post is so appreciative of art I need to start an entire new thread so I can piss on the life of losers!

I agree with that. That said, I don't know about 90's music necessarily being any "deeper."

(I'm man enough to admit I like the last song, though.)

It's all been relative since pop music existed. Mostly SHIT with actual good music sprinkled in.

It was definitely better than it is now.

Bullshit.

everything seems to be best in its early years. Rock in the 60s, metal in the 80s, rap in the 90s. Without new genres, everything has gone stale.

CyberHustler 09-17-2009 08:46 PM

90's? Try the 70's my dude...

Supz 09-17-2009 08:47 PM
