I turn on the DirectTV attached to the living room hi-def TV, so I can set the channels for today's games (I don't use that satellite connection the rest of the year, just for football season).............and the fucking receiver isn't working ("searching for satellite connection").

DirectTV in my office works fine and I can watch there (although it's not hi-def and I have to sit at my desk, can't sit on my couch and/or pace in front of the TV as necessary) - but the living room box isn't working, and the first service call they can get me is next week.

It's worked for seven years, and the same satellite works in my office every day, so no, I didn't check to see if it worked in the second room.

I thought you could watch the games online, sure its not a 52 inch lcd screen but it's better than nothing.

Yeah, DirecTV should have it set up so you can watch online.

Maybe it's just some settings that need to be changed. Google it and I'm sure theres some answers you can find or a direct tv forum or something that can help u.

Wish there were, but I was on the phone with tech support at 2am, we went through everything - it's apparently a cabling issue on my end, and the cable runs through several walls and closets, under rungs.......etc :(

Didn't need to watch it online - could watch in my office where the satellite was working fine, just couldn't watch in hi-def or on the couch.
