Thinking of turning my domain ilikeporn.com into a free email service.
 

I have been thinking about turning my domain ..you know the one in the title "ilikeporn.com" into a free email service. It is a wicked domain and I think it would fit perfectly for this use.

so basically an email account would look like [email protected]

Give me some feedback on this idea, if you guys think it would work and if you would be interested and also the general public. Not just webmasters.

Do you really think many people would want a vanity email such as that, and to make matters even worse. Consider how porn and public polls work. If you take those for fact then about 20 people watch and buy all of the porn in the world.

Which polls are you referring to? It's more or less a novelty email. Im sure there are many bloggers, college kids, porn enthusiasts who would want one? also it's the internet im not expecting anyone to use it as a buisness email.

Before Gmail I was going to have my own email service. I don't see many people wanting your service when gmail will always be able to offer so much more. Plus I don't think your domain is all that great.

Perhaps if you had [email protected] you could get lots of people to sign up.

You are thinking way too small. That domain should be a pretty all inclusive porn portal, with porn movie and web site reviews, articles, interviews, coupons, links to sponsors, webcams, free video clips, etc.. The free email service could be a goofy extra feature for the few freaks who want such a silly domain in their email.

I thought of something like this, although im not the best at marketing adult sites, because I don't have alot of money to spend ATM. If someone wanted to go 50/50 on this I would be more than willing to do so.

Will not quote any in particular but they are so common even comedians make jokes about only 1 person supporting a multi billion dollar a year business.

Sure as a joke some may sign up. After that usage would be minimal. Very few people outside of the biz would associate an email addy with anything porn related. Then there are many inside the biz that still do not associate an email addy with porn.

I would see it being used as a throw away email addy. Perhaps to insert into assorted sites when they ask for your email. Then as mentioned the spam blockers will hate you.

I do understand where you are comming from. My first thought though was look at how many people bought redicoulous and rude tshirts. You know which ones im talking about. Sex related, tasteless jokes. Stuff like that. It is pretty much the same thing but on the internet.

Most people will not want to use it.
You could go at it from another angle, as mentioned above.
Most surfers will be afraid their email will be abused when they sign up at porn sites.
Creating a service like spamgourmet would be a better idea.

Yea I would like to go wit the porn portal idea, but I can't even imagine how much capital that would need to get it going.

Building the site as a portal could be done very inexpensively, either by yourself if you have the skills or by a clever project manager/designer- either someone you hire part-time on a project basis to build the basic first version of the site. I would suggest using a free CMS like Wordpress. Then maybe figure a little budget for a writer to write some articles. Mostly it would involve a lot of time and work, not money. You can use sponsor content for photos & videos. Of course, if you want to buy traffic or advertising, that's another story. But actually putting a site like that up could be done very inexpensively by someone who really wanted to put some thought and time into it.
