I had a huge glass of water dumped right in the keyboard of my laptop a couple years ago. It made a noise like it all the electrical parts fried at once and I thought it was toast. I opened it up and took out the major parts and drained as much water as I could. Wiped down everything and used a blow dryer on the coolest setting. Let it sit 24 hours and powered it back on and it's been running perfect ever since.
Hope you get lucky man! A fan is usually one of the cheaper things on a laptop and usually really simple to change.

I've spilt a glass of water on mine before. I left it for a day to dry and then turned it on; it worked fine once it had dried out. The time I spilt a glass of champagne on it was another matter though :(
