I need smart thumbs help! PLEASE HELP!

Hi, I'm new to smart thumbs and need some help ...it may be pretty basic, but like I said I'm new. I'm working on pages that are already created....what I need to know is how to remove html code from them/make small changes unrelated to the scripts on the pages.

Like if I remove the code from the main index.php file in public_html, then also remove the code from the index.html (the template in st/template), then why is is still there when i refresh the page?

does this make sense? am I doing this wrong?

can somebody please help me? ANY help is much appreciated !! Thank you in advance!!!

Your doing it wrong buddy, you should only make changes to the template via the st/templates folder as it's the main one, the index.shtml or index.php in your root folder is not to be touched as the data is written to it from the page in the st/templates folder...

thank you so much....so if i only change the template file, and not do anything to the root folder, it should be fine?

If you're inexperienced in this sort of thing, I am 100% positive someone who has knowledge of that script better than you would be willing to help if you offered them a nominal fee for the assistance and explanation. You seem like you want to actually learn what you're doing, so give someone who wants to help you out a shot. It'd be worth the $ I am sure of it.

ETA For the amount of time it would take someone to explain all that to you so you understand it, and walk you through it, I wouldn't see it costing no more than $10, but thats MY OPINION ONLY, which prob don't count for nothing but hey... 2c here :)

Hi mate, thats correct. Any changes you make to the file in the st/templates folder is automatically generated to the main page, if you need a hand hit me on ICQ ok.

:)

in fact, you should just leave that index.php page blank and not the shtml page. let the script do the work in writing to the php page
