Yes there is hype but if you do not understand the issues behind the hype you missed out in both history and biology. Just a FYI.

Iron Fist 10-12-2009 10:17 PM

If you eat McDonalds three times a day and have diarrhea 5 times a day.. you may not have swine flu. Stop eating McDonalds.

yeah imo... the whole thing is about 80% hype 20% reasons to be afraid. The media is making it out to be WAY more "scary" than it actually is

GayIPornSteve 10-12-2009 10:33 PM

Slow news cycle = more media fear mongering.

I'm sorry, but what are you trying to imply?

Implying nothing.
There is to much hype. There also is legitimate concerns that the media is currently over blowing.
Could this one get crazy bad, yes. So far it has shown to be acting fairly stable right now. In the past the same strain caused major issues.

I got it, My wife got it and my 2 kids got it... We where tested etc, so yes, we know for sure. It was the worst flu I have ever had, I vomited and shit for 2 days. My wife ended up in the hospital for dehydration and spend a couple days there. The kids pretty much the same. Everyone had fevers bouncing up to 103-4 for over a week. I wouldn't wish this one on anyone.

It's actually quite prevalent around here (Chattanooga) So much so, that the doctors are reluctant to tell you that you actually have it for the fear of panic. The only way to test for it is by drawing blood.

When my mother in law had it, it was clear it was something different. Her main symptom was how much she was sweating. She honestly ruined a mattress just from her night sweats when she was at the height of her swine flu. What she has was very real and since she has a recent history of cancer the health service bent over backwards to help her.

Twig 10-13-2009 03:54 AM

Heard tale of soldiers in Afghanistan getting it.

I personally had something awful(no pun intended) that fits the case I suppose. The doctors I go to fix things with IV's and over the counter meds and don't test for shit, so I'll never really know.
Never had so much clear water run straight out of my ass before though.

This is a prototype, a test run for the evil puppetmasters in power to see what they can get away with in the event of a staged international emergency. Just imagine what FEMA is capable of in the US for such a trivial illness. Here we have science downplaying threat, yet they are still trigger happy to initiate martial law. Stage 6 of the pandemic is MARTIAL LAW! Look it up. Martial law is the last thing you want visiting a neighborhood near you, trust me. I predict within the next year or two a new supervirus manufactured as an excuse to lock up anyone and everyone inside the T.I.A. control grid with microchips galore. Get ready to bow down to the all seeing eye and the triangles as humanity embarks upon the 2012 destiny. The 1-2-3 flow chart works like this: Avian Flu>>>Swine Flu>>>Superflu. Swine flu was a dress rehearsal. The next pandemic will be the final act of the Endgame featuring 85 percent global population reduction as well as much more, way too much to list here...

you start eating corn

CaptainHowdy 10-13-2009 05:45 AM

The most evident sympton is really high fever... I've had that kind of flu when I was a kid and you won't be able to get up from bed.

nico-t 10-13-2009 10:11 AM

its just another flu.... the propaganda machines desperately grab anything to scare everybody with a reason. to my understanding this flu can kill weak infants or really really weak people as in elderly people who are walking on their last leg... But these groups of weak people can also die of other flus. Truly overhyped as hell... i had the flu a couple months ago this could have been swine flu or any other flu - i really dont care. Government here ordered 34 million vaccins - two times dutch, aruban and curacao population. An order of 350 million euros (more than 500 million dollars).
Hmm why is it that someone always has alot to gain with these kind of things....makes you think huh?

fatfoo 10-13-2009 10:13 AM

Yes, the symptoms are generic. Except maybe when you start taking a shit with blood, or something. Anyway, only way to find out is to get tested.

IllTestYourGirls 10-13-2009 10:16 AM

The hospitals and doctor offices have stopped testing for the swine flu. We will only know fake numbers from now on. And if they are selling you a swine flu shot, do you think those numbers are going to be higher or lower? My guess is they want a little panic to sell more shots and the government wants more panic to sell their healthcare plan....

Except for the fact they have stopped testing and basically labeling it all "swine flu" :error

Oh yea and the tests are wrong 70% of the time. (when they did test)

Yes, and notice how the media is making a concerted effort to label ANYTHING you come down with now as definitively being the "Swine Flu." They don't even bother with testing anymore, if you have a sniffle, it's the Swine Flu, if you have a sore finger, it's also most certainly the Swine Flu. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

stickyfingerz 10-13-2009 10:46 AM

Oh boy oh boy...I just had a bad poo... I think that it just might be the swine flu... please gfy doctors what do I do.. oh me oh my do I have the swine flu.....?
