Do you think that using a javascript redirecting mobile traffic to proper pages could hurt the search engines listings ? Be penalized ?

Why redirect it? Create your own landing pages and monetize it, at least the tour pages.

Hit me up and I'll set you up with our mobile white labels:winkwink:

Well it's a javascript that detects if it's a web browser from a PC or from a cell phone.
I can redirect to a page of mine as i wish but why not send it right away to premade mobile sponsor page ? Isn't the same ? Of course i miss my own sale's pitch page but...:upsidedow

i want to know this as well.

lets say you get traffic to domain1.com.
Will a mobile redirect to domain1.com/mobile/ result in some kind of SE penalty?

does google allow a mobile redirect from domain1.com to mobile.domain2.com?

Lilit 11-16-2009 07:58 AM

Based on my experience with white labeling I haven't heard any complaints about SE penalties from people redirecting from domain1.com to domain2.com. But why would you want to redirect from domain1.com to mobile.domain2.com if you can redirect from domain1.com to mobile.domain1.com?

Google will not punish you for a PROPER redirect. Obviously if you're redirecting to different pages than what Googlebot sees, yeah, you'll get punished, common sense. ;)

You should not be using a java redirect for other reasons. use php or htaccess
