Redirecting mobile traffic

I think this was discussed here before but I can't find the info on this.

What's the best way to redirect surfers that are using the iphone, etc. to a different page/site? (use .htaccess? how?)

thanks :thumbsup

There are several different methods. I personally prefer the JavaScript method, but the htaccess is very popular as well and very easy to implement.

I would be happy to explain the differences to you. Feel free to ICQ me at 147479144.

You need to get a script that detects the browser agent on load then re-direct them. Hit up any mobile sponsor I'm sure they'll hook you up.

Hey,

We have been using all three languages for our scripts. They have their advantages and disadvantages. HTACCESS sometimes needs playing around with Apache configs, not very fun :mad: , JAVASCRIPT isn't supported by some of the browsers and may not be able to run redirects efficiently :error, where as PHP is by far the most compatible and simple to use :thumbsup:thumbsup. Simply copy the code we can generate for you in the root of the URL and add one line of code in your index.php file.

You can always feel free to hit me up on ICQ for more information. I can help you through the process step by step and work with you to help convert that mobile traffic.

Cheers

Yannick
