need lawyer

Some whiny model is claiming she never signed a model release even though I'm staring right at a signed copy with witnesses. Who should I call to get her BS talking lawyer off my back?

stickyfingerz 11-17-2009 03:53 PM

I always do a video of them signing it, while asking them if they were in any way coerced against their will to sign it. Shuts them up really fast lol.

But if you have the release signed, and if you have a photo of her holding up her ID Id say you are pretty safe.

Anybody else? This seems so obvious its retarded. But its seems pretty clear that until I lawyer bitch slap back nothing is going to happen. Can I counter sue for wasting my time and money?

sandman! 11-17-2009 04:04 PM

What about that pornlaw dude on here?

Models, boysfriends, husbands and regrets later....
That sucks.

Why would you need a lawyer? You have all the paperworks, model releases, id's and witnesses. Just fax it to them. Unless you feel sorry for the model and are willing to drop it.

I've done that a few times when a model got into problems with serious health issues or work related issues / divorce things or parents madness.

Money is nice but after you made it back so many times and a single girl complains many years later for (a good) reason. I am a sucker probably. I'd erase it. But not from a business point of view. Only personal and if the reason was really urgent and honest.

Titan 11-17-2009 04:09 PM

To be honest I'm unsure what they are going after. The model still does porn. Thats not the issue. Apparently they are just going after somebody to squeeze money out of. Its pretty dumb since I have signed paperwork with witnesses. The lawyer is so dumb he misspelled the domain on the cease and desist letter.

You shouldnt really need a lawyer... how about that -- a lawyer telling you to save your money...

I digress, just send the model release to the attorney with her ID so he knows its her. Make sure the signatures match.

If he does file anything you can always hire a lawyer then. If you want a little more advice gratis feel free to hit me up via email... michael(at)fattlegal.com.

Thanks to Abbie and KB for the kudos !!!
