Critical Mass was hit maybe a year ago.

The Paradigm/ Zeitgeist/ Meme of our time is that all porn and digital content (music/tv/movies) should all be and is all free.

Do a google search for sex or porn or ass or whatever and you will see the Tubes/Hubs all come up first.

Why would anyone have to buy porn anymore? Its all easy to find, its all free and its 24/7 - always on. Just like our web. No need to download/save. Just stream it when needed.

The rate at which tubes were adopted amongst college kids (all spreading the word about them) was unbelievable.

And this is not even to mention Torrents... Which are just amazing to find entire site rips in one file.

There is still some money to be made. But it will get harder and harder as more people just download everything for free.

The business treated buyers like dumb ass-hole douchebags in the past... when it was super easy to make money. Now those people are jaded and will not buy again.

Your thoughts?

I am in total agreement. I do not know why anyone...that is into viewing porn...would pay a single dime...when there are a million or more free porn videos...of every duration...in every niche...of every quality. I think the current paysite model is going to be a thing of the past in the near future.

People are still buying... that is for sure.... Otherwise, we would not be here.

But... its becoming less and less because the mindset of the now generation is "free"

you're almost correct but you're missing one word, and that is JUNK.
90% of the amount of free porn available for free is pure junk I wouldn't pay for it anyway.
90% of the paysites have shitty content and they're setup like its '99.

HD content is surely nice, and if on top of that they got more that vanilla porn on that vid its sure worth spending time/money to get it.
But picture the average porn buyer, holding his boner in this hand and wanting to get off NOW and not 5 hours later when he finished downloading 5GB worth of HD content.
I'm guessing the content you're talking will get downloaded by porn collectors and will cause some revenue loss, but this kind of people spend money on porn anyway so its no major loss.
I can bet you the quality sites, even with the site rips, still make huge amounts of money.

who cares if its HD or SD if you have unique content and a good subniche/market you've got it made. it only takes a small handful of members on any site to maintain a decent standard of living imho.

Every year people will find some new way to complain about people seeing content for free. Quality is king in this business. There's a lot of bullshit out there that you have to wade through to get to the good stuff. Not only that, but you will end up seeing the same shit over and over again.

You also have to think about surfers who know what they want to see. They don't want to spend a lot of time searching and seeing the same shit over and over again. The best thing about a pay site is the person can see exactly what they want to see. They can blow a load and then clean up. Some people don't have the time to search and search for the handful of movies that will make them bust a nut.

It all boils down to the surfer busting a nut. If a pay site can make the surfer bust a nut time and time again, he will be a repeat customer. That means the program owner actually has to know the niche they're working with. These aren't the days where just plain hardcore is going to get it. The surfer wants to see what makes their dick the hardest. It is surprising how many people actually don't understand that.

Do any of you think you need to create a different kind of bond- or connection these days with your members?
