When will HD porn become the industry Standard?

That's what I want to know. We have HD everything else, and some affiliates have it, but when will 100% full HD porn become standard?

MaDalton 11-28-2009 06:29 PM

when people stop recycling old shit?

CPimp 11-28-2009 06:36 PM

And then it's a wonder everything is slowing down according to all the threads people have about low sales etc.

Jim_Gunn 11-28-2009 06:53 PM

Most, if not all of the major programs that shoot exclusive content and porn studios shoot in HD now, for a few years in many cases. That's all I shoot for quite a long time.

alias 11-28-2009 06:54 PM

It already is.

That's a good thing! I'm just wondering when it will be more common to see HD than standard definition... cuz to be honest some of it is a little rough and I wonder if thats part of the reason porn doesnt sell as well... plus as someone else mentioned, recycling old stuff.

NaughtyRob 11-28-2009 07:00 PM

I only shoot in HD. If someone wants SD they can ask for it then I'll shoot it in SD.

Im not a video editor or encoder, or anything near that. But how can you stream HD movies? I was under the impression that a HD movie does not even fit on a DVD so can't imagine a lot of users is having sufficient bandwidth to stream true HD movies.
Or do people just compress the shit out of them and sell it as HD?

marcop 11-28-2009 07:11 PM

I can't remember the last time I shot SD. I still have two SD cameras that I should've put up on eBay a long while ago.

NaughtyRob 11-28-2009 07:12 PM

I render my HD videos at 1920x1080 in .wmv and put them on my paysites. I dont try to stream them, I make the customers download them and am in the process of converting them in flash and will stream that. The quality won't be as good as download but they will have a choice.

CPimp 11-28-2009 07:18 PM

How are sales with HD availability compared to when you didn't have it available?

I stream 1280x720 encoded at 4000kbps just fine and the quality is awesome. I'm sure you could keep the quality up and the buffer to a minimum even at 6000.

only going HD will put a stop that shit :)

Zorgman 11-28-2009 09:07 PM

Question is, when (if they dont already) will webcams go HD streaming.

PenisFace 11-28-2009 09:18 PM

HD porn is a bad idea. Why? Because most women in porn only really look good under the right lighting and low resolution :1orglaugh

seriously, I've seen one or two pornstars in my entire life who werent total dogs underneath their mountains of plastic and make up.

a few exist already - looks good

CPimp 11-28-2009 09:45 PM

HD webcams would be nice, too! It would make money, wouldn't it?

Oh and as far as the bad-looking women goes, maybe just have to find better ones? LOL.

The Ghost 11-29-2009 06:25 AM

The only thing that matters is that the action is HOT. Having a bad porn scene in HD won't make it any better. :2 cents:

Truth :2 cents:

However - good video quality doesn´t hurt :)

NaughtyAmerica 11-29-2009 10:47 AM

All of our HD scenes generally convert better.

lazerbunny 11-29-2009 11:32 AM

I shoot everything in HD, then upload it in a smaller size thats still hd format.. so it streams or is downloadable. I think the scenes look good.. but then reviewers say that its not HD. They also say that photos at 300 dpi and 1000 wide are not hi res. What the fuck does this mean> as far as i can tell these formats are hi res and hi def. Its really pissing me off actually... so my question would be what the hell is hi res and hi def.. and what are standard formats the bigger companies use.. and what is the best way to encode and size of photos to deliver content?

Bob your stuff converts off the hook for me. Keep it up man.

Boobzooka 11-29-2009 03:45 PM

It will be a generation before the amateur audience accepts HD as authentic. :2 cents: I occasionally get feedback that some of our footage looks "too good to be real" ... never had anyone complain about poor image quality. (even though some submissions are pretty bad)
