Final Cut express? or Final Cut Pro?

Just wondering if there are any Final Cut users out there? I am looking for good video editing software. I'm a novice but a fast learner. Will Final Cut Express cut it for me or should I just go for the full version? Is there anyone here who has tried both that can tell me what the practical differences are?

Tks in advance!

depends. when i edit on the go I use FCE, it's better for laptops. But if you are using a solid desktop (G5) I would get FCP and go for the whole suite. It has lots of kick ass stuff.

You NEED the pro version.
Especially in this HD age, FCP also updates quite a lot.

I wouldent bother if you dont have an intel Mac though.
G5 is a nightmare with HD as you cant really edit on the fly.

Get Studio. Its only $999 entry point now and you get way more than just editing with Motion and Soundtrack Pro. Color 1.5 is easily the best correction tool available to the masses at the price point.

Very true. Its solid and you get better and better with time.

I got 2 full time in house editors on staff and a part timer. I got so much better at FCP because these guys are so good. FCP is the way to go, because you will find more people using it than other editing programs. Your questions get answered that much faster.

These have been my expireincees:thumbsup
