Indianapolis Colts Coaches = Pussies

What the hell were they thinking not going for the undefeated season?
I really, really hope they lost their first playoff game. Fucking pussies.
As a competitor, you have an obligation to try to make history.
If you win the superbowl then great. But if you go undefeated you are the greatest team of all time and nobody can say otherwise.

Payton looked pissed when he was pulled. Great way to turn your team against you right before playoffs coach

Gnus 12-29-2009 08:36 AM

Well there is 2 sides to a coin. If they left the starters in and one of them got hurt or a couple of them got hurt then they would be saying why didn't the coach pull the starters. Either way he would of been criticized for it. He's just trying to protect he's players is all. They need them for the SuperBowl.

Yea, lame at best... I'm glad to hear that the fans in Indy are raising hell about it, any of them that went to that game should get their money back... :pimp

Gnus 12-29-2009 08:39 AM

Oh I predict a Colts and Saints superbowl.

They are not in the superbowl yet. Not even close.

Payton Manning has been sacked 10 times the whole season. You think that by taking him out for 4 - 5 drives that's going to really help him down the road? Just pathetic IMO.

L-Pink 12-29-2009 08:41 AM

Interesting how you have to declare any injuries that can affect a players performance before each game but not that your best player is going to be yanked early regardless of the score.

Glad I didn't have money on the game. What about all the fans/customers that showed up?

Does resting someone for 20 some minutes really count as "rest" Why start him or the others at all?

Wonder what was going thru Paytons mind last night watching Favre lead his team until the last play? THAT is how you lead a team.

Only difference is Manning would have won. :)

I'm far from being a Colts fan been a Bears fan since I was a kid win or lose. No they are not in the superbowl yet. Playoffs first then the superbowl. They probably won't start them on the last game anyways. I'm just saying they have the playoffs clinched why risk having a key player injured if it's not necessary.

Caldwell should have pulled his players, but his timing was just awful. They could have easily won that game. On the other hand, the Colts are the most injury plagued team out of all the elites, so maybe it was the right decision.

Because a historical, undefeated season is on the line. If you manage to pull it off, you're the greatest team ever.

He's good but I don't think he's on special teams :1orglaugh

My point is you expect to see a competitor like Manning in there when needed unless he is nursing an injury. I really hope they get their rested asses handed to them in the first round of playoffs.

You don't play for record books and stats, you play for championships. I applaud him for pulling the starters, i think it took balls to make the not so popular decision. Every person in that stadium was booing him every possession for the rest of the game.

How many of you would be calling him an idiot if he left Payton in and he breaks his leg getting sacked?

That's the key right there IF but what IF he kept his starters in and one or more got hurt and it cost them going to the superbowl. Why take chances when u don't have too is all.:2 cents:

Gary

Owner 12-29-2009 09:07 AM

It was Bill Polian's orders to pull the starters not Caldwell's.

Maybe because people pay good money to watch them compete, advertisers pay good money for them to compete, if your not going to put your best players in and compete in the game you should just forfeit and not waste people's time and/or money... No one but maybe his mom wants to watch a 3rd string QB and some other scrubs get the crap beat out of them. :2 cents:

Then why put him in for half the game?

That's is what gets me the most is why he didn't do it to begin with.

Gary

You gotta keep them getting some live reps up until the play offs, wouldn't be a great idea for them to not play a snap for 3 weeks before the divisional game.

seeandsee 12-29-2009 09:18 AM

who cares

And what if they get hurt by playing those few drives? The coach would look like as much of an idiot as in your other scenario. The players are pissed off about it, and that is what counts more. I bet you he will look like an idiot of the Colts get knocked out of the playoffs and people start saying it was because the team got cold.

I guess the bottom line is, no matter what decision he made, if they dont get to the superbowl then he is an idiot.

I dont think the players are that pissed off about it, the coach said they made the plan at the beginning of the week and they stuck to it.

Reggie Wayne made it clear he was not happy.
And although Manning's mouth said one thing, his eyes said another.
