Harold Ramis says Ghostbusters 3 in 2011!

Just read this over at www.bloody-disgusting.com

Quote:

Harold Ramis (Egon from Ghostbusters) recently caught up with Heeb Magazine where he updated the status of Ghostbusters 3. According to the director/producer/actor, we could be seeing the new team of ectoplasm hunters as soon as 2011. "Something?s going to happen," Ramis told Heeb. "Dan [Aykroyd] did write a spec GB3 screenplay a few years ago, but no one was motivated to pursue it. Now, 25 years after the original, there seems to be some willingness to proceed and apparently a substantial public appetite for a sequel. We?ll introduce some new young Ghostbusters, and all the old guys will be in it, too. Think Christopher Lloyd in Back to the Future ... GB3 is progressing with plans to shoot next summer and release in 2011." Sigourney Weaver has been throwing curveballs as of late, but if there were one person to trust, it would be Ramis. Holy crap I can't wait for 2011!

The Ghost 12-30-2009 02:26 AM

Would love to see it. The first one was groundbreaking and a great movie.

KILL_FRENZY 12-30-2009 03:04 AM

I might go see it for curiosity's sake. Don't think there's an awful lot to a storyline about Ghost Busters busting...ghosts.

Bossman 12-30-2009 03:10 AM

I hope they donīt kill the 80s vibe :Oh crap

Daddy Big Nuts 12-30-2009 08:46 AM

I'd go and see it, but no way will it come close to the first two movies. I just hope they don't ruin it altogether... :2 cents:

Further proof that Hollywood is out of good ideas.

They should have never made a Ghostbusters 2. Nobody remembers that one anyway.

There is supposed to be an interesting twist to this one that Sigourney Weaver let out in an interview, so if you want to be completely surprised don't read my next paragraph.

Anyways, supposedly the only way Bill Murray would sign on for this one is if his character, Dr Peter Venkman, came back as a ghost. When I read that I have to say that could end up being pretty fucking funny...

It's not as good as 1, but it has it's moments. It's a decent follow up.

What are you talking about? You don't think Bill Murray could pull that off and make it pretty damn funny?

When did movie writers become so unoriginal?

Twisted Dave 12-30-2009 02:26 PM

Sequel's don't automatically mean unoriginal. Some sequel's are superior to the originals. Take The Dark Knight as an example. Based on a decades old character, direct sequel to a film by the same director, and yet MUCH better. It's not about new movies ... it's about new ideas within movies ... and Ghostbusters 3 could (and I hope it does) turn out to be a classic. Let's wait and see :)

Yea seriously...the parts with that were creepy.

2 really wasn't a bad movie, but definitely too much on the gimmicky side (kind of like The Mummy Returns after The Mummy - still good but when they know they can put out an okay movie and get tons of tickets sold, they don't strive for more). If they take a step back and just go for making a great movie instead of making a movie patting the first movie on its back, then GB3 will rock.

Davy 12-30-2009 04:08 PM

Too bad Bill Murray can't be in the movie. They killed him in Zombieland!

Maybe that's why Sigourney said he was going to come back as a ghost?

Just the fact that they are making another ghostbusters movie and that ramis and akroid are writing it means I will at least be mildly amused.

Have you ever looked over Ramis's body of work? Very impressive. If anyone could pull it off, they can. Add apitow into the mix as rumors have had it, it would be hard for them to fuck up. Not saying they couldn't fuck it up, but that is a fucking dream team of comedy if there ever was one. :2 cents:

Matt 26z 12-30-2009 04:57 PM

Star Wars... Indiana Jones... Ghostbusters... now we just need a new Back To The Future.

FlowerKid 12-30-2009 05:08 PM

If it's really with the original actors from Ghostbusters I & II then maybe this will be a great movie.

Raf1 12-31-2009 06:33 AM

I hope they don't ruin it
