Where can I find someone online that can design a sick remodel for my bathroom?

I could send blue prints, photos, measurements, etc... I just don't want to be limited to what is local here in Vegas. Typically, design services are total packages (design + labor) and I want to do some of the work myself.

I just need a sweet design and a solid plan to work with. Are there any services online that offer something like this?

There is a usenet group called alt.home.repair where you can get some good (And bad) advice on doing things yourself. Some things to consider are your budget, timeframe, can you live without this bathroom for a long time or must it be done rather quickly. You can save some money by hiring the subcontractors yourself, but that can be time consuming and frustrating trying to find a good one who will show up and do the work as expected. I get most of my work through referrals. So ask your friends and neighbors about their experiences. I'm sure everyone can tell you who not to use.

You could hire a designer to do some sketches and you can implement them yourself. The more time that you spend planning the less time it will take for the project to be completed and the less problems there will be. The biggest headache will be getting good subcontractors.

Sounds like he knows all that and just needs the plans. Even Bob Villa needs plans to work off. Designers can get pricey if you get the good ones. Try design schools and students.

You may be right about that. I just figured my own design from what I have seen at my customer's homes and going to a lot of showrooms. Looking at pictures online never gave me details. I learned about epoxy grout from a newsgroup. I got my tiles from a manufacturers warehouse at wholesale because I'm a contractor. The plumbling supply gave me a little bit of a discount on my Kohler valves. I saw corner shelves at a customer's house and had some made up at the marble and granite place. On one shelf I requested that holes be made for toothbrushes and a razor. Apparently no one requested that before, but they did it and I love it. I had my vanity semicustom made with the sink off to the left so I could have drawers on the right side. One drawer I had them make extra deep for tall bottles of shampoo and such. One thing I have not purchased yet is a Toto toilet with the bidet toilet seat. With me form follows function.

If you really need help with designing I would tap some women friends with good taste and also run an ad at some art schools. Going to a lot of showrooms and picking the brains of salespeople helps a lot.
