Star gold is indeed nice. I have it too. But what airline did you earn it with?

I'm UA

Find the airline for which your city is the hub. Search for a forum called FlyerTalk where all the airline FF talk about programs.

For me its SA on Delta as i live in Detroit. For hotels its SPG and for car its Hertz. I spent about 150 - 200 days on the road.

I fly a lot, because I have clients who pay me to do their travelling for them. I'm their eyes and ears in remote locations or when they simply don't have the time to or don't want to travel themselves.

I like American and is currently AA Platinum member as well as Lufthansa Senator (Star alliance gold). I'm thinking about swithing over to United since they will let you rack up miles over a life time, and when reaching a million miles accumulated, you're guaranteed to be gold for life even if you just fly once a year. The only reason to stay with Lufthansa is that next year I will probably be HON CIRCLE MEMBER. Then you are being picked up by a Mercedes and taken to the airport, a whole separate building/terminal dedicated to just first class passengers and HON members to check in at, and finally a very relaxing and calm environment to vind down in while awaiting the flight. Then taken with a new Mercedes to the aircraft and once you have borded, the plane takes off. A client has it, always nice to travel with him! ;)

AA has a similar thing as UA, reach a million miles, and be gold for life. Reach 2 million and be Platinum for life. They don't really advertise those things, but trust me, the features are there.

Same here.

SW Michigan has to puddle hop to Minn or Det for most connecting flights with NWA/Delta.

:2 cents:

I need to take a trip to Fiji but don't have the time and don't want to fly there. How much will it cost me to pay you to go for me and get a nice tan? I'm thinking about those huts on the water, with the stilts in the water. Can I pay you do stay there for me?

Such a trip would suck total dick and I'd rather not do it, so give me a price and lets talk.

Usair- chairman

it's hard to fly any other carrier out of my airport and I can get non-stop to just about everywhere in the US.
Food sucks but oh well.

gaffg 02-09-2010 11:17 AM

I like Brown Star

I had Star Alliance Silver with US Airways and Silver Elite with Delta probably for the past 2 years, just lost both last year because I didnt travel.

My problem was I would fly a lot between my town and Pheonix, LA and Vegas so those were the only two options I had. I wish I could of taken US Air the whole time and would have had at least Gold status, but had to keep switching because of the flight times

Right now you can get double miles with US Airways if you buy them. Most people dont like the option, but if you think about the cost, its well worth it. On a US flight it costs 15,000 miles to upgrade to first class (if available). So normally, your talking $375 to buy the miles which isnt really worth it IMO. However, you can now get a round trip upgrade for $375

As well, you can buy round trip first class seats if you plan ahead for 50k miles which would only cost you $1,250 compared to the hefty $2k price tag they normally ask or go to Hawaii and Europe in business class for 60k miles. the thing is you just have to really be able to plan ahead, but would be well worth it

Not full time. I have a few sites and do this as a side business. In my daytime I'm some sort of consultant. But I spend too many evenings and nights away from home every year to not take advantage of all the time I have "left over". So that's when I setup and run my sites.

fatfoo 02-09-2010 04:21 PM

Anybody use cards that give Air Miles? I got those things.

MrMaxwell 02-09-2010 04:59 PM
