Who uses Google Analytcs ?

Does anyone here use Google Analytics to track conversions? I was thinking about jsut using 'goals' instead of tracking ecommerce. I wouldnt know if it was a trial or a month but I don't think I could talk a program into setting up the ecommerce bit on a custom check out page for me. What is your experience with this?

Thanks

Goal tracking in Analytics is pretty damn good.

I use analytics on all of my projects.

I use my own proprietary blend and tag pages with whatever the campaign name is. I also tie in click heat maps to that, so I know how each campaign targets people for different niches - heat maps are essential when you've many join links - it tells you what works with what traffic. :2 cents:

Google can suck my cock for all I'm concerned.

I've been using it since someone suggested it to me a couple of months ago. Does it help w my SEO? I have no fucking clue, but it couldn't hurt?

How do you track conversions? You can't host the secured page with the credit card information, right? So do you get the company to give you a custom checkout page that has your code in it?

I was concerned that it could hurt seo because I trade a lot of links between my sites. This could make it pretty damn obvious to Google.

but for now, I want to know how people know when someone signs up.

Why? I haven't noticed anything on my end that looks out of place and I use Analytics on every domain.

I'm using it on some of my sites...

It can help you much but it can also fuck your SE traffic from what I've read to date...

i use both google analytics and click tale.. and love both of them.. now since google has api access, there are some really cool things you can do..

alexchechs 01-10-2010 04:18 PM

We use google analytics and have multiple goals and campaigns set up to track conversions and it works really well...

if you run your own ccbill paysites you can

ccbill has a field that you can enter a analytics tracker code/ 1 for all sub accounts, or you can enter different ones on each sub

rowan 01-10-2010 10:20 PM

I don't use analytics on my own sites...

... and to go further, I actually have google-analytics.com blocked, so when I visit a site that DOES use it my info won't be phoned home...

Use it and like it
