yup, oh well. Wonder if the show will survive without him.

People watch the beginning to see him make people cry or fume with rage... then they watch the last part to see the best of the best and who will win.

Without him, there's only the last part to watch... and even then, it still won't be quite the same.

I don't think it would do well without him.

The beginning fucking blows...the last part is the only one worth watching, and he's the only judge that makes the judging part worth watching.

It'll probably survive a couple more years after he's gone. He's probably reached the point where he'd rather simply collect paychecks.

AI became lame, last season was horrible... He's just going to move on with another show and bring the audience with him.

Smart move...

I won't be watching it this season, well the bad aditions I might watch.

On the English equivalent (X-Factor) his endorsement is really the only comment that actually means anything to the singers. The other judges just make up the numbers.
American Idol and the X-Factor may as well have been called the Simon Cowell show.

i read he's going to be taking the show to vegas.
