Link Exchange Management for Multiple Domains

Ok, I'm using LinkEx on my sites to management the link exchanges. But that is just for a handful of sites. I see it already coming when I have some more sites that this is going to be a day job by itself. Anybody got a better alternative for managing the link exchanges on multiple domains? Does not have to be free. But it needs to be able to verify AB ABC ABCD links (or whatever scheme).

Was browsing around linkex, seems like in 2007 they were looking at making a server edition. Let us know what you find.

I sometimes think LinkEx is not very active developed anymore.

I'm currently even considering implementing something myself but......there's only 24 hours in a day. ;) Hope to see some serious suggestions here. Otherwise it's probably my best option because the whole LinkEx for 10 or more sites is probably a major hassle. I love LinkEx for it's reciprocal checks. But besides that I think that even maintaining separate HTML snippets on 1 domain and have these snippets "include" in the correct spots on each site is easier in terms of maintenance.

Would BTW also be ideal for traffic trades. Just one traffic trade/link exchange app in one domain and then use that on your other sites. This is for instance why I started using OpenX for advertisements. Just a single spot to manage ur ads for all your sites. Still an OpenX noob but thus far I love it.

Anyway, let's keep an eye on this thread. I'm sure we are not alone with this problem.

Multi Domain Links Organiser is undoubtfully the best you'll find around. Yes I use it, the majority of webmasters does. And I think we all pretty much agree that it is the best linking script to date, also because it got a setup for auto interlinking, a-b-c-d linking etc. And ofcourse, it's multi domain. Only 1 install needed and you can use it on any of your websites, without installing it on every server.

It will generate includes for every website you set up. SI or php include the files and you're done.

I'm using two hosting providers. One can use cron and the other cant. I assume u only need cron on the server which has the installation and all other websites that "include" do not?

Obviously, just a matter of RTFM ;)

Anyway, thanks both. I will give this script a try.

I've been using it for years across nearly 100 sites. I never come to a thread just to drop a ref code.

Only the host it's installed on needs Cron, all others don't. All they must support is a simple shtml include or php include.

Yeah, but I didnt know that you are one of the cool guys. So seeing just a single link and nothing else to say made me wonder.

Regged there already. But let's be honest, it's not one of the best efforts to manage your own sites and have full control over it. Love it for the request -> pending -> setup cycle though. But the inclusion code is pretty simple and not much useful.

Thank u very much. But I just finished "testing" it with the free version (3 sites, 20 links) and all u guys in this thread are right. It's pretty straight forward and I do see its potential. Will make an order tomorrow after I get some sleep ;)

One question though. I'm experimenting now with a site that includes a page with 3 different link sections (friends, sponsor sites and sponsors). I was not able to find an option for that so this is my solution for that. I created a site for friends which will be open for public (the standard link exchange). In addition I create 2 sites (with 2 fake paths on the same domain) but closed them for submission (since I'm the one adding those links manually). Each site has it's own template and included those in my page. Seems to be working fine. Is this the way to do it or is there a better solution?

I dont have this site up and running yet but I will probably upload it end of this week.

Ok, you chould check this Links Organizer out. It seems to be what we are looking for. Simple installation, not much hassle, just a few 777s to set, enter the MySQL config and update ur crontab and it's done. There is a free version u can download after registration. Still, the price is affordable (hence cheapwebsoftware ;) ).

Links Organiser is the best linking script around atm. Sure there are some features I can think of that would make it even better, but unless someone scripts something better, this one is the way to go :)

Who knows. Tbh, I would love to implement such system. Would be a fun project. But what I have seen from Links Organizer so far, for that price, I think I will stick with that for now. It seems to be great and maybe the author of it will make the necessary changes eventually. Dont know how active it is developed atm.

To all contributors in this thread, many thanks :thumbsup. This is going to be a major time saver.

For me life is continuously being hungry. The meaning of life is not simply to exist, to survive, but to move ahead, to go up, to achieve, to conquer.

And to act as if you're very sophisticated and smart to say something profound......but in the end just copy/paste something which was said by the guy who's favorite movie phrase is "I'll be back". :Oh crap
