What are the Top Ten Hosting Companies?
We know Webair, Mojo Host and a few more.
Can you guys list them please. Thanks. |
Hi Dave,
I like Cyberwurx.com The have been around since 1997 and still going strong, I find them very reliable and service and uptime is excellent :) |
Webazilla :thumbsup
|
Top 10 what? :-)
We have been in business since 2002 and doing business with the brand AdultEUhost since 2005. |
top 10 in what? Is it in size? Customer satisfaction? etc... This is like asking how long is a piece of string.
|
All you need to know is the no.1 company: Nationalnet
|
NatNet! xx
|
Choopa is the best. I have tried over 30 and there support is great. Good prices and great support.
None of the above can hang |

Top 10 as in Google and Bing are probably in the top 3 of Search Engines. |
If you are ranking by Quality, pricing, support and Uptime you must include Techiemedia.com on the top of this list.:2 cents::2 cents::thumbsup
|
from my personal experience: Techiemedia & Mojo Host
|
You won't find better than AmeriNOC (formerly Phatservers) in my opinion. I've been with plenty of hosts and none come close.
|
:thumbsup for AmeriNOC/Phatservers.
|
As already mentioned a few times www.techiemedia.com is by far one of the very best hosts in todays hosting biz. Reliable, great prices, perfect uptime, and the best support in the biz.:)
|
SplitInfinity has been in it since 1994 and as such should be included in that. :-) Now, from an outside perspective, hypothetically, If I didn't own a hosting company, I would host with Phatservers (now amerinoc). Of course, because I do own one though, I obviously think we qualify in the top ten. :-) So far I think we provide great service, but in any host there is room for improvement.

Then it is no one you mentioned or has been mentioned in this thread. While this site is no where near accurate as there is alot more variables involved(hosts using multiple brands, nameservers etc..), you can get a kinda fuzzy picture of what is going on, Look at the top 15. http://www.webhosting.info/webhosts/ |
some of the host listed here is bull shit
|
Cool inputs but I like to see a list then.

Hey Dave....
Why do you ask? I do not believe that hosts are a "one size fits all" type of business so depending on what you are trying to accomplish that list could vary. I will make you an offer....if you would like to discuss it offline I will be happy to help you develop the list based on your requirements. In the interest of full disclosure, I will tell you and everybody else that I will list NationalNet in the #1 spot, but what I will do is give you a list of 11 instead of 10 so that if you want to drop me off the list you will still be left with 10. How is that for fair? ;) --T |
natnat, silicon valley web hosting, webair
that's the three I have had really positive experiences with. |
Choopa.com great support and great prices

Web Host of the Year Cavecreek, ISPrime, Lease Web, MojoHost, NakedHosting, NationalNet, Phatservers, Servage Hosting, Techie Media, Webair http://www.xbiz.com/news/115720?ln=web But then again, you state top 10 hosts without any guidelines. None of the hosts listed above are in the top 10 list for largest hosts globally. |
if choopa not on the list its a shitty list
|
GotWebHost
Choopa Splitinfinity and that one guy that tosses his cat in the air... |

Swiftwill MUST be in the mix.
|
Is this a list of which reps and fanbois can chime in about which hosts they support?
Ahh okay... got it. |
National Net all the way.
|
Techiemedia must be one of them for an awesome support and great deals.

For the money you get more than just a hosting company. You get a partner. Back in the MadAve days we were running out of database horsepower and NatNet came up with a clustered (not master/slave) MySQL solution from scratch and it was awesome. Didn't charge us a PENNY extra! That's the type of service I'm willing to pay a few extra bucks for! NatNet is in a class all by themselves in my book! |
Just passing through :) Thanks Pastor and WaddyMelon.
|
great thread and perfect timing

If Uptime, support, price and flexible no contract terms are your criteria then as posted above Techiemedia is for sure worthy of being on the top 10 list.:2 cents::thumbsup

Dave not that you care but these guys are mostly full of shit top host is rackspace.com then you go theplanet.com others that do in the 100 million plus revenue range.
For sheer BW levels choopa and swiftwill are probably the biggest now, in adult specific circles. |
rackspace.com(mainstream - 100.00% network uptime for the last 4 years.)
mojohost.com(adult) |
> You could have the best Customer satisfaction even if you don't have bandwidth.
> Top 10 as in Google and Bing are probably in the top 3 of Search Engines. Ok, so largest in terms of number of users, regardless of whether or not it's "a heaping pile" (the definition of "bing")? So AOL is the top ISP and Bing is a top search engine? Godaddy would be near the top, simply counting number of users. Godaddy, AOL, and Bing would of course all be near the bottom of any list of the "best" or especially for "most appropriate for professional use". Of course "number of customers" is only one measure of "size", too. I know Swiftwill has one single client who does as much bandwidth as 10,000 average Godaddy clients. If you're talking about "most appropriate for professional use", which is what matters more to most people here, Phatservers/Amerinoc would be near the top of the list, along with Webair, NatNet and others that have been mentioned. Godaddy and other $9 hosts would be near the bottom of this list, since they target grandma's quilting club and the local donut shop, not a professional adult site. Then an altogether different list is "which host should I choose?" That depends entirely on what you need and want. I large tube site with a professional server admin on staff needs cheap reliable bandwidth. A newbie with a small site needs helpful, knowledgeable techs who are willing to hold their hand for $20 / month. So to know which host anyone should choose they have to consider what they are looking for and rank the following considerations, deciding which is most important, which is least important, etc.: __ base price __ fast friendly service __ expertise __ performance (fast servers, network) __ security __ shared or smaller accounts __ dedicated or larger accounts __ high volume bandwidth price That would be useful info I'd like to see from people who have posted "blah.net is the best". The best what? The best price on huge amounts ofbulk bandwidth? The best hand holding when you ask stupid questions? The best performance? The best reliability? Swiftwill might be ranked #1 for best security, someone else for the friendliest customer service. If anyone cares to, I'd love to see you rank the host(s) you mentioned in each of the eight categories, marking "1" for what they are the best at, their top priority, and marking "8" for what the do not focus on, etc. for the numbers 1-8. As an example, I might rate Phatservers like this: Code:
_3_ base price (as low as $10 / month, no setup) I really don't know about how Phatservers rates for large amounts of bandwidth. Their colo prices are very good, so I'd like to rate "dedicated or larger accounts" higher, but I have to mark SOMETHING as #7 and #8. |
swiftwill is a top ten for sure
bw service you name it everything |
